I was hoping to have a website up by now where I could provide a better interface for this game, but I just don't have the means...maybe next year. So, for now, I'll just let anyone who wants to play post their predictions in this thread. What is it? The concept is pretty simple. Predict how you think the overall standings will look for each conference by the end of the upcoming NBA season! All I ask is that you post your predictions in the format I specify, because I will be copying them straight from this thread to a spreadsheet that will keep track of all the scoring. What is the format? 1.) Just copy exactly what I have below in small font into your post. *insert name* Dallas Denver Golden_State Houston LA_Clippers LA_Lakers Memphis Minnesota Phoenix Portland Sacramento San_Antonio Seattle Utah Atlanta Boston Chicago Cleveland Detroit Indiana Miami Milwaukee New_Jersey New_Orleans New_York Orlando Philadelphia Toronto Washington 2. Insert Your cc.net username where it says *insert name*. 3. Next to each team put one space, and what place you think they will finish in their respective conferences. Do not rearrange the order of the teams. You can look at my example in the next post to make sure you get it right. *Note: Remember that the top two teams in a conference cannot be from the same division. Scoring The total amount of points you can get is 421. For each Eastern Conference team you guess right, you can get a maximum of 15 points. For each Western Conference team you get right, you can get a maximum of 14 points. For instance, if you guess the Lakers will finish #1 and they do, you will get 14 points. However, if the Lakers finish 4th, you will only get 11 points. The numbers of points you received for each team will be added up for a total score. In the case of a tie, the tiebreakers are: 1st Tiebreaker – Who picked the most playoff teams correctly. 2nd Tiebreaker – Who was closest in picking the first place teams. 3rd Tiebreaker – Who was closest in picking the last place teams. The tiebreakers will continue in this same fashion. For instance, the next tiebreaker will be 2nd place teams, then the 2nd to last place teams, and so on. Final Notes The last day for entries will be Friday. Over the weekend, based on everyone's predictions, I'll post the overall predictions for the NBA season.
