The article made me a little mad...."big mistakes made against a non-playoff team".

Hey, we may very well be a 'non playoff team', but this is in the Western Conference which is much tougher than the East, so much harder to get into the playoffs. We're not a bunch of scrubs.

As I watched the game, Popp was loosing it as he was yelling for his team to foul. He was animated, jumping up and down, yelling, and swinging his clip board. Could the Toy Box been so loud that the Spurs couldn't hear their general? Might it actually have been a home court advantage? This is why lower bowl people need to be in thier freakin seats, loud, and proud at TIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't think of any of those things that were clear "mistakes" by San Antonio, other than maybe Ginobili stepping out of bounds (which they don't even call a mistake).

How about, "Damn the Rockets made some good plays offensively and defensively. Especially that Courtney Lee steal, I never thought anyone could hustle that much in the last minute of a game." Some fans need to make like Phil Jackson and give the Rockets some f---ing credit.

Great analysis. NBA Playbook is quickly becoming my second favorite b-ball site - after Clutchfans, of course. :)

Popovich going ballistic was definitely fun, but I remember being impressed by how quickly he cooled down after that. By the next timeout, he was all business.

Watching the video again, I think the Spurs players closer to Popovich (Duncan, Ginobili, and Bonner) heard the coach, but they were too far from the ball to do anything about it. Duncan eventually made it over to Martin and commited the foul.

BTW maybe it was due to playing back-to-back, but Ginobili seemed to me a step slower than usual. Some of Ginobili's mistakes that were pointed out in the NBA Playbook post seemed due to fatigue.

Hmmm... Mistake 5 and 8 came out of what seems to be a frequently run play:

Here it is featured in an earlier "Clipboard Awards" video from the same site:

Courtney Lee made an amazing steal but it wouldn't have happened if Ginobili did not try to casually flip the ball to Parker. Also, Ginobili not getting his shot off in time during regulation was a clear mental mistake on his part.

There were some that I didn't think were mistakes, though. For example, Scola set such a good screen that George Hill had no choice but to go under the screen and give Martin the shot. And Scola shuffled his feet on that charge call against Ginobili, IMO. Not that I'm complaining.

Of course, none of this would matter if the Rockets didn't play a damn fine game.

Exactly, that's what I was thinking! HE doesn't give any credit, at all, to the Rockets players. It's like he's simultaneously insulting the Rockets

The truth is the truth.....no need to be mad at the writer for that. Blame the Rockets for their lackluster play till very recently. Had they played with this level of effort and intensity throughout the entire season they would easily be in the playoffs

some of those don't look like mistakes, just good plays and bad plays.
