This will be the first time in a long time where I will be buy a basketball video game. The last one I bought was Live 04 for the PS2. I have a PS3 a 51 inch 1080i projection HDTV. Which franchise do you like better based on previous games. The Gameplay on live really let me down the last time i played. Which game has the better gameplay and graphics. I'm inclining towards 2K9 it just looks sick. There is a picture where AI is guarding Kobe and i thought it was from an actual game but its actually from the videogame.
There's so many discussions on this the past couple of weeks. I'm more of a 2K person than Live. And I can't wait till this game comes out next week. I'll probably rent Live just to see if it's any good.
The demo is available on 360 if that's your system. Save yourself the $6 or whatever a game rental is these days.
The 2k9 graphics seem just a little bit better. But I have always preferred the Live gameplay. Its not as "tight" as 2k9, and 2k9 can be frustrating at times. I know its supposed to be a sim, but don't take the fun out of it by making it frustrating. I would still pick Live. I haven't liked a 2k game since NBA 2k1 on Dreamcast. That was a great game.
I am loving the Live demo, so I probably will get that one. I also saw some stuff on pastapadre.com that looked really cool. I don't think either franchise has brought us a GREAT game so far this generation. But hopefully that will change this year.
I like NBA 2K9 way better. The controls are tighter way more realsitc. The graphics look great and the association mode is very deep.
Shot Stick feels more like shooting than a button press to me. I'm so used to 2K, every time I try to play Live, I drive to the hoop and do some type of funky crossover (because of the whole used to the shot stick thing), LOL!
I'm a 2K fan myself. I grew up on Live, but once Sega Sports/Visual Concepts hit the scene, I liked the feel of their game better. The graphics are starting to catch up to Live. Normally, I'm a sucker for eye candy, but 2K's gameplay *to me* is just much better.
OMG. Best video ever SEEN by an NBA video game. Check 2ks front page. Look at Tmac doing the crossovers. Also, I love BDs moves at the end of the trailor. http://2ksports.com/
I just got Live. Its better than past versions but it plays weird. The controls feel stiff, animations are canned. Most the animations don't look good at all. Feels like sometimes you aren't controlling your player. Rebounding is funky too. Sometimes you can jump and grab it, other times it just goes automatically to the closes person or the ball goes through you. The good, CPU plays smart. Leave somebody open and they'll shoot, finds the open man, ect. But I ended the game shooting high 60% for both teams. Yao was shooting 9/12. Mikki Moore was 8/9. Almost everything in the paint goes in and I'm playing on Superstar. Oh yeah, the rosters aren't even updated! No Artest on the Rockets. Yeah, I know with the 365 thing, its not needed. But for people with xbox live, have fun playing with outdated rosters. Anyways, I think it all comes down to preference. If you prefer the NBA Live gameplay, stick with that. I think you would enjoy this one more than their past nextgen titles.
NBA 2K9 has a demo up on PSN, I have now played all three bball demos and NBA2K9 still has the best gameplay out of all of them. Live has improved but 2K still remains the king.
No, its NBA Live 08. Also, people are saying you have to pay for NBA LIVE 365?!? I can't check because I'm not on xboxlive at the moment but man, thats ridiculous. $20 per season.
If someone makes a thread can i at least get partial credit, I can't make threads but would like to be able to eventually
