Welcome to Austin. I live her and I get the NBA package on hte dish and it works just fine. I believe that the package is available if you have "digital" cable. By hte way, Rockets vs Spurs games will be blacked out (black outed?).

Does this answer your question? http://www.timewarneraustin.com/services/cable_services/sports_packages.asp

Just get digital cable from time warner and you can get it. It's much more convenient than getting a satellite dish.

Just one more confirmation if you're nervous -- League Pass is available on Time Warner digital cable. That's where I get mine. It's a basketball junkie's dream.

It's also available on DirecTV, but isn't yet available on DishNetwork.

    Yep,

I concur, I have Time Warner Digital Cable and get the NBA league pass.

The only bummer is that sometimes when the Spurs play the ROcks they are blacked out....but at least 1/2 of those are picked up by other local stations like KNVA or KVC, so no worries.

The subject of watching the Rockets in Austin comes up frequently and there is always a reference to a blackout of Rockets-Spurs games.

I don't recall ever missing one of these games. There is either a difference between DIRECTV & Time Warners' League Pass or there are other viewing avenues (WB54, ESPN, etc.) which make up the difference. If this wasn't the case, how would we Austinites have developed a distain for Joel Meyers and know who "Jesus" Parker is?! :D

I live in Austin and have League Pass. This coming season will be my third. I wish it were cheaper, and sometimes their billing is a bit stupid.

(Last year I paid the whole amount up front, so I wouldn't have to check my bill to see if they were taking out payments for too long. They applied the whole amount to my billing for Roadrunner, premium channels, etc.- it was very irritating. I had paid over the phone and got numerous promises that they wouldn't do that. It was a pain to get straightened out.)

It's great if you want to see all the games. Curse the Spurs!

    Deckard,

I did the same thing...only I was trying to hide it from my wife...you know...pay in cash for the whole thing and say it came free....UGH !!*%OY($*

    Busted !!!

I did not get a bill for a couple of months then BOOM there it is...in all it's glory....wife....says...WHAT IS THIS NBA thingy?

Had to come clean with the goods, my hands still ache from all the foot rubs that cost me.

Last year I believe 81 games were televised in Austin. The only game not on TV was a Rockets Spurs game not picked up locally by WB 54 (Spurs Austin broadcast affiliate). League Pass blacks out all Spurs game no matter whether they're available on FSN or WB 54.

Not bad at all, the cost of LP has been increasing yearly - 2000 - $149, 2001 - $159 - so I wouldn't be surprised to see it at $169 early bird this season.

DaDakota, I was sorta doing the same thing...I wonder what THIS year will be like. You would think TimeWarner could handle something so simple.

My wife doesn't like to see the extra payments for four months. It reminds her of how much we're shelling out for all the computer/TV goodies. I'm hooked on RoadRunner as well as the Rocks (and CC.net! ;))
