Looks like whoever gets him, will just be renting him for a season. http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/fee...ba-gm-carmelo-anthony-to-knicks-is-inevitable In the aftermath of the Nets’ pursuit of Nuggets SF Carmelo Anthony—which ended last week with owner Mikhail Prokhorov telling his front office to cease negotiations—what became most clear is that Anthony is bent on winding up with the Knicks. As one general manager told SN, “Now it’s inevitable. I don’t know how many other teams are going to want to get involved in any negotiation for him, because who wants to go through what the Nets just went through? It’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of when
Well, yea, we all knew that from the start. Thats why I don't see why people are so anxious to rent him. He is NOT going to stay in Houston if he does come. Hell, if anything he'll probably dog it so he doesn't get hurt before heading to NY
I thought Anthony would be a good fit for our team but seeing what he is currently doing to the Nuggets I really don't want him anywhere near the Rockets.
But maybe we can get him to change his mind? We have great weather, no state income tax, beautiful women, great team chemistry in the locker room. We have great pieces/assets to trade so we can surround players around him. Plus Adelman is a top coach with a system Carmelo can thrive in. Other reasons are Daryl Morey and the Rox owner Les. Morey is one of the best GMs in the league always getting great value in trades and draft. Les is an owner committed to winning and is willing to pay the luxury tax, if it means making a contender. I think we have a very good chance of convincing him once he gets here.
Rockets can give him China AD Dollars. I just don't see how he won't like it here once we get him here.
We tried to get James to come here, but he had already made up his mind to go to Miami. We tried to get Bosh to come here, but he had already made up his mind to go to Miami. We tried to get Amare to come here, but he had already made up his mind to go to NY. I don't even want to get rid of assets for someone who has already made up his mind to go to NY. It's just plain unintellegent.
The reason you don't see that, is because you're looking at in Houston lights. The bright lights of New York are brighter than the lights in Houston.
You're assuming the Chinese AD dollars will be there. Yao may not even be here past trade deadline. I think it's safe to say, if Yao's not here, Chinese money won't either...
What kind of chinese endorsements did Yao get T-mac? You are also assuming chinese ad dollars will follow a player that hasn't seen 30+min in 2 seasons. Do the Rockets games still command same amount of marketing dollars, when Yao sits as when he plays? I bet the ratings and viewership is down.

There are much fewer posters claiming to be from China.
