Player, Ron Artest -- Artest is your classic wild card, so we know that he will have some type of impact. My hunch is that he will win games for the Rockets in the Playoffs, who, in some great irony, will probably get out of the first round without T-Mac. When Mac went down, the first thought that popped in my head was, "This might be good for the squad, since, at this point, Artest can probably do Mac better than Mac can do Mac." I've seen Ron-Ron routinely dribble balls off his shins, his jumper is ugly, he's never been athletic and that's even more of the case these days. But, somehow, he remains one of the six or seven best all around players in the game. I don't how it'll happen, but Artest will be heard from this Spring.

That is spot on about Ron. Ron is like Battier with a good offensive game. He looks clumsy and takes ill advised shots sometimes but he can win you games. Just look what he did to us last year with his clutch shooting.

If you're going to be an underdog in a series. Who would you rather have Tmac or Ron? I would rather have Ron because he can pull a Baron Davis and just mess up the natural order of things.

    I wish we had both:(

I wish Morey could have got us some more talent to go with Ron an Yao(Like Baron Davis) before the deadline...

I COMPLETELY AGREE ON THIS POINT.

When the Nuggets beat the Lakers I went on a limb and said...they can be beat. Some people were saying no no no, they are still a good team and blah blah blah they are the Lakers.

Nah, they can be beat. You can't just decide when you want to play defense and ESPN and the Media thinks they are a lock to go to the finals because the other teams in the West have not got better?

Incorrect, Houston, Portland, Denver, and Utah...All have improved. Yeah the Suns got worse, Mavs, and the Hornets are basically the same. That's why the Hornets are not a elite team like last year, they've made no improvements. They added Posey...but subtracted Pargo.

Lakers DECIDE when they want to play defense, it will be the death of them. Just like how Kobe(once again) saved their ***** on Sunday against the Mavs...when will they learn that Kobe can't save their *** all the time in a 7 game series?

Good article though and yeah...Artest is a wildcard, hopefully he's the good artest and not the bad one.

Does this article suggest Ron being 6-7 all round player in the game?

he said "at this point," referring to a broke down one-legged mcgrady. so yes, that statement is true. but hopefully he won't try to do it. we saw enough of that in new orleans and the last few weeks. stick to the good, nice, role player ron and rocket fans should be ecstatic.
