I'm surprised that ABC had that production value. I'm so used to hearing the Pussycat Dolls and the Blacked Eyed Peas that I thought ABC had no knack for drama outside of "Lost." Still not near the quality of the old NBC productions, but better than what I've seen recently.

Yep, I remember it from last year.
"Never underestimate the heart of a champion"

probably the greatest part of the intro.

I tuned in just in time for it. Very impressed and it brought out some old emotions, especially when Rudy uttered those famous words.

    Good job ABC!

Instead of the Dream/OT celebration highlight, they should have used the Dream/Clyde celebration, just seemed more dramatic, with the all the college and pro years both went through to get to celebrate together.

Wow. That is just crazy. Makes you wonder what else can they do with technology these days. I would like to see them do a Past vs Present game. Digital Dream FTW!!!

they used it for the past 3 years ever since the Heat-Mavs series.

But yeah I'm so glad they got rid of the Pussycat dolls and Tom Petty this time around.

the old school NBA on NBC will never be duplicated, its like trying to turn back the clock and make Wrestling cool again.

It was nice but they should have shown Hakeem putting the Dreamshake on Ewing or O'neal/Robinson as well.

Hearing so many compliments about this "new" intro (not just here, everywhere) makes me think NOBODY watched the Finals the last two years.

The Dream/Clyde celebration gets shown all the time.
OT getting some love doesn't. Probably the great hardworking PF the Rockets have ever seen. I'm glad OT got some TV time.

    agree with tinman.

what I don't like about the intro is that they include the worst hotdog jordan play of his career. I hate that "spectacular" (oh, but so useless) "move" where he moved the ball from one hand to the other to what purpose? Yes, he made a standard layup as difficult as possible just to show off. It's one of the worst NBA highlights ever, and I'll never understand why any true basketball people celebrate it. To show that in the same sequence with Dr. J's incomprehensible swing-the-ball-behind-the-back-board-because-there's-no-other-place-it-could-go-and-well-let's-just-score-the-bucket play makes me mad every time. Those are ab-oh-solutely on opposite ends of the great play spectrum.

    okay [/rant] sorry... :)

Yep, I dont like that move neither, he just wanted to show off, the Dr. J was amazing, he stay in the air, to avoid the other players, and try to make the basket.

I always get goosebumps when I hear the phrase of Rudy T, its just amazing!!
