I hadn't thought about that before, but Adelman's experiences with Chris Webber may be part of the reason he's been so hesitant to bring McGrady back.

Good to hear the perspective from someone who has been there. Also good to know that coach wasn't just blowing smoke to keep him off the court, he was trying to do what was best for the team and tracy.

What are you talkin 'bout? Everyone knows Adelman is a meany and is trying to teach that naughty Tmac a lesson...

I swear the guy has been a coach in the league for, what, 20 years? People should have enough sense to know that he's here to win games...he knows how good Tmac is when healthy...there is no way he'd keep him out of the lineup if he was good to go, but obviously he still isn't fully recovered...Adelman knows that better than Tmac.

Webber's take should help reinforce that...yeah he feels good now, but the season is a grind, not a few games here and there...tmac has no idea what that will be like on his knee. Adelman has seen it first hand and probably heard a lot of the same things from Webber that he's hearing from Tmac. Give it time, don't rush Mcbrittle out there...it'll just screw everyone in the end.

C Webb shares his advice because he went through same surgery with Adelman. Remembers rushing back and begging coach to play. Standard time should have been 7mpg. Got 30mpg. Was worst decision he's made. Advises T-Mac not to come back too soon regardless of how good he feels because it will be painful down the road, 3 months from now.

It's great to see T-Mac on the floor, we wish him the best.

Webber: I have had micro-fracture surgery, it takes time to get back to 100% from it. I hope T-Mac handles it the right way and comes back to his old self.

One of the most useful thread started by tinman ever! :p . It has always made sense and adelman dealing with webber before only helps. There was alot of conjuncture and wolf tickets being sold. it takes time and only time can heal the body. He will probably just build the time up and see how it responds. The minutes will marginally increase as they move on.

This makes Tmac look worse for whining in public.

This actually makes sense as opposed to all the "Adelman hates Tmac" theories.

    Good stuff. Thanks OP.

Sounds like McGrady could really benefit by talking with Webber. Like Yao did with Big Z.

I'm not one to complain, but lately everyone of your post have looked the exact same. blah blah blah tmac trade joke blah blah blah. we get it. you want to trade tmac. you wouldnt have to post ever again and everyone on this forum would kno that. Youve got great insight, but ive just been ignoring your post as of late.

I've only mentioned that Rick Adelman is the leader of the Rockets 1000x times, but the herd at clutchfans refuse to believe it.

    Plus leebigez,

they don't get "RICK THE RULER" reference. They just talk that la-di-da-di.

RA is just a dumb nickname. Do Lakers/Bulls fans call Phil Jackson, PJ? did Pat Riley get referred to as PR?

Rick is a HOF coach and he deserves more than some stupid lazy nickname which are just his initials.

I can't predict the future, but I know Rick the Ruler has always done the right thing.
