http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0122/1315389.html 6 years, $4.6 billion... no more NBA on NBC theme song
I did as well, the theme song makes up for any shortcomings the broadcasting has... Seriously, I doubt ABC will be too much better than NBC. If at all.
ahhh i also liked nbc. doodoo dooodoo doo doo doo doo dahdah dhadah dah dah dah dah dah dah dah dha daAH! (theme song) NBC gave me many great basketball memories. sniff.
I don't like NBC's studio crew, its just painful to watch. I don't like the games NBC chooses to cover, hopefully ABC will be better than that.
what, you think that just because the games are on ABC, we'll see the Lakers less frequently? Pass that bliz-unt over here...
The NBA runs the show not NBC. Look for Ahmad and the others (unless under contract with NBC) to switch studios. Game selection will pretty much be the same. The All-Star game on cable is going to be weird. I think they should keep that on broadcast TV.
As many have mentioned, you don't wanna lose the greatest theme song in professional sports. But what about NBC's sappy little beginning statements before games. I loved those. "For one, it was the site of his greatest triumph. For the other, his greatest sadness. Tonight these two great warriors face off once again in a game for the ages. Next.... on NBC." Dammit. Although I do like the idea of ESPN getting more involved in the NBA (and talking about it more SC, etc) and I still get 3 nights of games on national tv per week so it shouldn't be too bad.
