I thought that looked suspicious, I was hoping someone could shed some light on that.

Yao need to get some triple double game to be on the top of the list per their ( NBA so called experts) standard.
Yao could have gotten triple double stat based on inside-out game plan.
But RA's offense always do extra pass. So Yao could not get the assist stat he deserved.

    not true.

even with the inside/out offense, the assist rarely goes to the center because the ball is moved around the perimeter 2 or 3 times before the 3 is taken (often by shane in the opposite coffin-corner 3. ball reveral forces the d to move/rotate.

yao doesn't get many assists, but not because of adelman's offense.

    WALAWALA,

why did divac, webber, and miller ALL have good assist #s running adelman's offense?

None of them were centers who demanded double and triple teams, attention that ultimately lesd to wide open 3-pointers after kick outs. If they counted hockey-assists in the NBA, Yao Ming would be averaging well over 5 apg.

He does because the way NBA counts assists is wrong. Keep it up, Yao !

Glad to see Yao getting some respect and attention for his play as of late, but to say he's the only reason the Rockets have their head above water in the West is silly.

Yao has had some MVP type seasons but injuries held him back.

You don't need to look at stats to know that Yao is unselfish and besides a lot of Players have Triple double qualities but I wouldn't take them over certain Players. Lamar Odom and Josh Smith are Versatile but I'd take Yao and Nowitzki over those guys any day.

If Yao keeps playing like he's been playing the last week he will be the MVP. I diss'ed him earlier in the year saying he would only get into the HOF if they moved it from Springfield to Shanghai, he'll make it if he can avoid injuries.

Great to see Yao finally getting some respect and praise. I have a hard time seeing the voters ever letting him win it but it's still great to see the recognition, nonetheless.
