How is RL an underrated acquisition? He was touted as the largest FA last summer and signed a contract worth 100+ million......

Duncan got more votes for best PF AND best C than any other player. 27 GMs voted for best C. 13 said Duncan, and 9 said Yao. Dwight Howard and Shaq got 2 votes each, and Amare got 1.

For SG, out of 27 GMs, 25 thought Kobe was the best, and 1 said Dwyane Wade, and 1 said ... Ray Allen (probably the one who voted Kobe as the top SF).

T-Mac got 2 votes out of 27 for best SF, and Carmelo got 4. LeBron got 20.

I think its in terms of popularity. I too think Lewis is very underrated, he might have high salary but his name is never mentioned in current best players in the NBA. But i also think his injuries has alot to do with it too. He has the talent, but also has alot to prove n if healthy he will be there with the best.

lowry is tied for 3rd place on "on-the-ball-defender" yet francis and him exchanged layups against each other. does that make francis a good defender too? ;)

Based on the last 2 days, I'd say Carl Landry is the most underrated acquisition. :)

I don't know about that, Landry is okay. We have too many player who "could play in nba" but not enough spots. It will be tough.

Since we are talking about Scola, I only listed info regarding Luis...check out link to read about the other rookies.

    LINK

Remember when high-impact NBA rookies were all peach-fuzzed kids right out of college? Those days are long gone. As the 2007-08 season gets set to tip-off, the top rookie is just as likely to be a world-weary European free agent sporting full facial hair and maybe a championship trophy or two from some international competition.

Last year Jorge Garbajosa of the Raptors played as big a role in his team's success as any rookie over the first half of the season. Had he not broken his leg last March, the 6-foot-9 Spanish small forward might have threatened Portland's Brandon Roy for the Rookie of the Year award.

This year's crop of rookies features two more experienced international newcomers, including one we think will make the biggest impact of all. Here then is our list of 10 impact rookies to watch for the season ahead, listed in reverse order:

    1. Luis Scola, Rockets

At age 27, with vast experience in Europe, this 6-9 Argentine power forward is far from a typical rookie. His high hoops IQ and ability to pass and score inside should make him a perfect fit alongside Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady. The Rockets figure to be a top team in the West, and Scola will play a significant role. He probably won't win Rookie of the Year, but he likely will play the biggest role in his team's success than anyone else on this list.

He may be underrated in that everyone thinks he was way overpaid. If he is as good as his salary, he's been underrated by all the critics. Of course, he's not that good, so he's merely been overrated by the Magic. I think everyone else has him pegged about right.
