Nothing wrong with offering our players for a high price.

Maybe Morey has been spending a little too much time on this board. :p

Me too. You don't sell for 50 cents on the dollar, you try to get equal to greater value. I just think other franchises think they could raid our squad since we are not a playoff team this season and they are finding out DM is not a dummy and isn't panicking.

He'll do what's best for our franchise and the Bulls/Celtics can keep their crappy offers for our valuable role players.

It's not that Morey's prices are too high, but rather other GMs feel we should be having a wholesale. With 2 straight mediocre years, other GMs, like this entire board, believes that everyone on the Rockets are "must go, huge discounts!!!" So they're just going to wait Morey out thinking he must sell eventually.

This is why a team needs a real GM and not a bunch of fans running the operation. Half the people on this board would probably sell everyone for a low 1st round pick or 2nd round picks. They probably hear someone offering crap for Aaron Brooks and accept without hesitation.

But really, why sell your players at their low point? If other teams aren't willing to make serious offers, what's the point in dealing with them?

Shane and Luis need to go. Preferably to the same team. One can help on offense and the other on defense. They have no upside and will gradually decline with time, however they shouldn't be thrown away for nothing.

exactly. you don't just give players away. the rockets are bad but they're not cleveland bad. yes, some pieces can be moved but not if you're getting trash in return.

Rockets/Morey's official statement after the trade deadline:

"We appreciate the support and consideration of all our fans. Throughout the season we have pursued many intriguing deals, but ultimately feel that the asking price other teams want from our players is too high. We feel comfortable forging ahead with the talent we have and are optimistic for the remainder of this season with the promising players on our roster."

The scientific equivalent of that statement is..

Shoot for Jonny Flynn, settle for Chris Paul.
