Eh, sounds like he doesn't know what he's talking about.

-Lee is not a scorer, he's a defender.
-Hayes is more for defense, and Miller for offense. I wouldn't say their rebounding is their standout trait.
-Bud is more than just a 3pt shooter.
-Jordan Hill all around skills? I'd say he's mainly a rebounder at this point. His offense and defense are very raw.

i am more concerned they feel we can only with 50 games, which is like 8 more than last season give or take...wtf? Yao + Lee + Martin (In system) + Miller + Patterson - Ariza - DA - Tmacs cancer= 8 win improvement? Gimme a break.

    He's there for both.

Hayes is actually a fantastic rebounder playing the 4, but you're right about Miller.

True, but he didn't say three-pointers are ALL Bud is there for. He was trying to illustrate the point that the Rockets' bench is versatile and balanced.

I'd say he's fairly versatile. Like you said, he's raw, but I think he can develop into a mid-range threat, post threat, and solid defender (at the 4, not the 5).

He still rates Dallas as having the "best" bench, although we are the deepest.

we have a good bench, but still a lot of young players. if we want to win now, we need to cash some of them in for a legit vet/star

Who Nate Robinson, Tony Allen and Big Baby? Marquis Daniels? Shaq? I'll take our bench.

Uhhhh add Von Wafer, Delonte West, Avery Bradley and eventually Jermaine O'Neal. Tony Allen is no longer with the team...

I was sort of with him until he said they could win 50 games. It felt like he was insinuating that it's a best case scenario.

Don't know about better, but it's certainly older than ours.
Over the course of a season I'll take the Rockets, not sure
how much gas in the tank all of those guys have left. And
Wafer and West are prone to checking out in other ways...

I found this paragraph somewhat laughable. While the writer is correct that Portland has a good bench, he is way off on some of his comments. First of all, Batum is going to be their starting SF. More notably, how can you call the signing of Wes Matthews a "heist"??? That would be like if a jewel thief BOUGHT the damn museum before breaking into it to steal the diamonds.

I agree with him that we're the deepest bench, but his assessment of some our players is incorrect. Mr. Clutch is right..

Lee is more of a defender than a scorer. He was scoring because he was playing for the nets and played 35 minutes a game. When you think about it, that's not very high and in houston he will play a lesser role.

Hill is not an all around player at all. After watching him in the summer league, I'm convinced that thus far, he's more suited as a high energy rebounder/dunker. Maybe later he develops into a more all around player.

Not to mention the mess of a situation with Fernandez.
