Didn't see it posted, lock if it already is http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2011/01/17/melo-doesnt-want-to-talk-to-nets/?ls=iref:nbahpt2
Knicks have hit a rough patch on their current road trip, if the knicks lose tomorrow the Rox could, in theory, actually contribute to making the Knicks more likely to up the ante for Carmelo.

I think Anthony is going to wait it out, and just go through a sign and trade to the knicks... Which means that at least the nuggets stay a playoff team this year..
Lala doesnt either. Not going to the Nets. Lets just quite this silly rumor. Its a rumor to get the media off hi back for when he leaves to New York. That way it doesnt look bad o him like Lebron. He is doing what Lebron is doing. Just in a different way.
I'm really hoping that this doesn't drag out til the deadline. I'm assuming that Morey waiting for a conclusion to this nonsense before he makes a trade. Rockets could really use Melos help on this.
dude, did no one read that article a couple days ago?? the one that said the nuggets will now let the nets talk to melo?? it clearly says he didn't want to talk to them then. how is this new news??
yeah he definitely seems to be trying to disrupt any mid-season trade talks. i wonder if the knicks know they are the eventual destination, just what they will offer in a sign and trade. whatever they scrape together, the nuggets won't be too thrilled with it, especially if NJ is not in the picture to drive the price up. which makes me wonder what the teams are offering that just want to rent him...
If teams like us are willing to trade for him without an extension being part of the deal there is no way that happens.
Okay, let me ask you this.. does a 1st rd exit, and whatever the NY knicks decide to give us in a sign and trade, "outway" the assets(most likely Jordan Hill, Patrick Patterson, Chase Budinger, Ish Smith, 2011 1st rd) we will give up for Carmelo Anthony? Personally I think no, so I wouldn't trade for a rental..
His agents want him to be a Net, that way he signs a bigger contract before the CBA and they get a higher percentage of his salary. There are a lot of motives right. Melo seems willing to take less next year to be a Knick.
Well for starters Morey has made it so that we can't give up our 2011 first round pick so that option is out the door. Giving up the Knicks first round in 2012 isn't a big deal because if Melo is there it is likely to be in the 20s anyways. The only player that you listed that I'd hate to lose is Patterson because he has shown a lot of promise over the past few games but the bottom line is that we won't be giving up any superstars because we don't have any. The new CBA could make the gap in salary between current team and no team even larger and the Knicks currently can only offer Melo a contract of $12MM next year bc they don't have enough space to offer him a max deal. I say the gamble is worth it when you look at the circumstances.
morey wouldn't stop at just trading melo if he got melo. morey would continue and go get iguodala/kaman/dalembert and form a dangerous championship team. then melo would extend with the new cba. if that doesnt work. we just try for dwight howard and cp3 the next season. no loss
