Are you kidding me? You have to log in to access NBA.com? What a joke. No more traffic from me... http://www.nba.com
yeah I was upset about this two. I didn't want to make an acount, i just want to look at the scores. i couldn't find a way around the Login, so i just didn't watched the boxscores
Seems like a stupid move on their part, it will just force more of us to ESPN.com for scores, highlights, etc.
I had to login to use it back when you posted this. But now it's working fine. I was looking for the BUGMENOT.com site to get a password. Then suddenly, that site no longer exists!
works for me as well...but if i have to log in then screw it. I get all my news/info from clutchfans anyway.
Wow, it's back to normal now... Last night that had everything (all team pages, even rockets.com) pointing to this page, although they have updated this page somewhat since last night: http://www.nba.com/rm/login.jsp
hasn't happened to me yet. one thing about the scoreboard, that new courtside live SUCKS!!! they are always behind and the stats aren't ever up to the minute. the system they had the last couple of years had been much better. they were still a little slow but not like it is now.
nba.com just sucks. They don't even have live box scores. If the game is still going on, you have to open their little courtside applet that doesn't give you a regular box score. espn has those, and they will continue to get my traffic.
Their media site's login is a huge bugger, a real pain in the rear, so I'm hoping that doesn't carry over to the real page. Then again, half their team/roster pages shut down my Mozilla anyway.
OK... sorry for the delayed answer but here's what really happened: All the team sites around the league are hosted by league rules on NBA servers. That night all the servers went wacky. I know.. I was trying to post the recap on Rockets.com and all of a sudden... 404 Page not found. When I went to NBA.com the login was showing. It took them a few hours to fix it but that's why some folks saw it and others didn't. The following day when they were trying to correct the problem it briefly happened again. The good news: You aren't going crazy. You saw a login. The bad news.. situations like that shorten my life by about a year each time they happen.
I don't use nba.com for scores anymore. They try to make you look at their front page before you go to the scores. They set up their "nba scoreboard" page so it has the date in the url. That way the url changes every day so you can't bookmark it, and go straight there. Not only that, but they only put a link to the previous days scores, and purposely leave out one going to the following day's, so you couldn't bookmark it one night, and then just go back to it the next night, and go forward one day. That's bull@#$%. It might not make much difference to broadband users, but it's a different thing with dialup. For awhile I would bookmark the scoreboard, and then when it was loading change the url to the correct date, and refresh. But now I just use ESPN's scoreboard. Bookmarked with easy access. So nba.com, you think you're going to force me to look at your front page just to get scores? The only thing you did was force me away from your site.
