NBA.com came out with their television package yesterday -- $134.95 for League Pass (all NBA games) or $89.95 for the Rockets and six other teams. Time-Warner wants $159.95 (early registration) for all games but has no lesser package. I am tempted to take the $89.95 package because I only am interested in the Rockets. However, this is streaming broadband by computer only and I don't know whether the picture quality will be below par. I operate at 18.5 mps (or whatever the highest mip is for Time-Warner), and I have large, high definition monitors. Any thoughts on what is the best solution for the price?
I think he means that if you buy league pass the streaming broadband comes with it for free. I could be wrong, though.
If you're only interested in the rockets you should not get the $134.95 package. I'd go with the $89.95 package because of the ability to watch archived games and from any computer. Plus, it's a lot cheaper.
Oh. I thought I had really missed the boat buying League Pass every year. Since I am a frugal soul, I would prefer paying the lesser amount to watch the Rocks (especially since I rarely tune in to non-Rocket games, except for the Spurs broadcasts, which I get for free). However, I would rather pay the higher price if given the choice of that or poor picture quality.
Seeing as how 90% of the games are on FSN Houston I was wondering if a cheaper option might be to somehow purchase that channel. Not sure if this is possible, if it is it would probably come as part of a package. Anyone know about going this route with TimeWarner? (I'm in Austin)
question can i share a NBA broadband account with someone else? like share the password and stuff with someone NOT in my house with different IP address and all that.
Actually my friend and I shared the league pass broadband account last year and were able to log in and watch the Rockets games at the same time. Oh and we live in different states
Does anyone know if I can watch the Rockets games on Uverse in San Antonio? Anyway at all? I don't think at&t uverse offers NBA league pass. I had broadband last year and I was able to watch most of the Rockets (if not all) on computer.
what i did last year was my friend got TV league pass, and i just paid him like $50 for the broadband. sweet deal. let's see if i can do the same thing this year.
Wow, I didn't realize this was an option. Our cable contract is up after this season, so I think I'll drop it completely and just pick up the Rocket package next year. I barely watch enough TV to justify monthly cable costs.
