NEW YORK, Jan. 7 – Houston forward Juwan Howard has been suspended one game without pay for hitting Toronto’s Mike James in the face with the basketball, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations. The incident occurred with 5:55 remaining in the second period of the Rockets' 112-92 loss to the Raptors on Friday at the Air Canada Centre. Howard will serve his suspension tomorrow as the Rockets host the Denver Nuggets at the Toyota Center. Stupid...
Don't worry guys. The message has been sent to the league that we are not to be messed with and we will not accept trash talk. Juwan has validated the manhood of the team, so i expect the wins to come rolling in. If we could only get Yao to man up and get himself suspended a few times, we'd probably get past the first round of the playoffs. Oh yeah, I forgot:
Yeah... just ruffle the feathers of the Rox players, and get them ejected and suspended...then you can win the game easier. BRILLIANT! Oh yeah, ............
Good. Since he can't play basketball anymore, he can throw basketballs. If we can't dump him in trade and he won't retire, use him like that.
Uh, the rolleyes was to indicate that I was being ironic. I was gonna leave it out, but, you know, I didn't want people to take it seriously by accident.
1) I would expect a veteran to be able to better control his temper when an ejection could jeopardize our ability to win the game. 2) I would expect a veteran to realize that his actions may result in a suspension, which may hinder our ability to win the next game(s). I can understand a veteran's need to establish himself as the big fish on the court by silencing the young mouths, but not at the cost that the Rockets will pay. For other teams, losing a power forward for 1 1/2 games may not be that big of a deal. For our team this year, however, it's a difficult loss.
Denver would have been tough anyway. But without JH as a 2nd scoring option, we don't have much of a chance.
I still like what he did. He was the only one with the cojones to step up to Mike James all night. **** that loudmouth b**** and that chip he's carrrying on his shoulder.
Mike James could go blow a donkey for all I care. I love seeing the clip of the ball smashing his face over and over and over again on tv.
I wish Juwan had kept his cool. What I don't understand is why does Mike James have a chip on his shoulder toward the trade? Heck Sura was traded out of Detroit to Atlanta and Mike James benefited in being traded from Boston to Detroit where he won an NBA championship. Sura missed out on an NBA championship and can you imagine how Sura must have felt? Yet, I didn't see Sura holding a grudge or showboating last season toward his former detroit team.
Yeah, anyone have a vid? I'd like to see this! At least someone is not willing to put up with crap. I'm not saying we need a bunch of idiots on our team, but this is good ever so often, hopefully to light a fire under someone's butt. Anyone's butt...
