Argentina’s center-forward, who is Houston bound next month, made some noise and raised some eyebrows in FIBA Americas, taking home tourney MVP honors after averaging 19.5 points and 7.5 rebounds. Quite a remarkable feat, considering the U.S.’s dominant run highlighted by its own two deserving candidates, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony. How happy are you, Rocket fans? 9. Yao and Nash's Good Cause So, what are your first thoughts after winning by 23 points? How about helping underprivileged Chinese children who can't afford schooling? Welcome to the beautiful mind of Steve Nash who approached Yao Ming in the U.S. Airways Center tunnel after the Suns' March 12th win against the Rockets. Next thing you know, Nash, Yao and a roster of NBA players including the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Baron Davis along with Yi Jianlian (among others) are competing in an exhibition game at Capital Steel Stadium in Beijing on September 14.
Rockets had big influence on NBA this summer. It seems, similar to Yao, Scola has special star power!
thank god, our front court are humble team first, high b-ball IQ, highly skilled players that don't rock the boat.
Without a doubt, Yao is the best center and Scola is the best PF in FIBA. I believe both of them are very excited to play with each other. Our front court will be the best in NBA, although it might take time.
Watching both highly skilled big men work together betweeen the high post and low post will be fun to watch. Scola's ability to drive, shoot and pass will fit in perfectly with Yao's excellent post scoring, shooting and passing. Throw in Battier and Tmac....and that's quite a front court. The great thing is that they're all around the same age 27ish or 28 area, so they can be together for many years to come.
