So, my GF offered to get me some good seats for a Raptors game in Toronto for my Christmas gift. They would be playing either the Bulls or the Lakers. I love the NBA and all, but I just can't really get myself amped up to go see a game that doesn't involve the Rockets. I've been to one NBA game before (Toronto vs. Philadelphia) and we sat pretty much in the back row, so it wasn't very enjoyable. I wouldn't mind seeing another NBA game with better seats, but is it really worth it? What do you all think? Would you enjoy going to a b-ball game that involves teams you don't really care about just for the NBA experience?
I could enjoy an NBA game with two teams I didn't care about, but probably not if one of those teams was the Raptors.
Yes it's worth it. I went to a Nets-Clippers game a couple of years back. It may not be the best game you'll see, but it's still fun to watch some basketball.
Not NBA related, but this summer I saw: Mariners @ Angels Nationals @ Padres Diamondbacks @ Dodgers So much fun to see, as a baseball fan. It made me remember how much fun baseball can be when you're not watching the Astros. It did help that all 3 had awesome finishes. Angels stretcher-off Grand Slam in extra innings - (Kendry Morales hits walkoff grandslam, and gets injured jumping on home plate.) Padres walkoff single in extra innings Dodgers win due to balk-off.
and someone got piss piss piss drunk in between those games too why doesnt she just get you the raptors/rockets game as an early/late christmas gift?
Are you going to the game together? If it's a date, then I'd go just to spend time together. Lets you watch some ball without being too emotionally invested. If it's by yourself or to bring a buddy who also has no interest, I'd pass.
I actually find that watching a game with two teams you don't really care who wins would be a enjoyable experience. If you're watching a rockets game you'd be too involved in the game that you and your gf probably won't even talk much. You can go and enjoy basketball for what it is, relax, and watch premier NBA athletes go at it.
