MVP: Kobe Bryant - There is no doubt in my mind that Kobe Bryant will be winning the MVP again. He has been leading the Lakers to the best record in the league 48-11, despite Andrew Bynum being possibly out for the season. Kobe and the Lakers also ended the Cavs home winning streak, of 24-0 where another MVP Candidate, LeBron James. This award depends on who has the best record in the NBA and currently the Lakers have the best record in the NBA. So right now, My vote goes to Kobe Bryant now.

    DPOY: Dwight Howard
    - He is easily the DPOY, If he doesn’t win it this season, the award should be taken away. He is the league leader in rebounding and block shots. The Orlando Magic have also become a lot better at defensive efficiency and have been allowing teams to low FG%. Who deserves all the credit? Dwight Howard. He is the man in the middle, he intimidates anybody who drives the lane. Dwight Howard stops players from scoring in the paint and that’s what a DPOY is suppose to do. He is easily the best defensive center in the league.

    ROY: Derrick Rose
    - He is the ROY for me. He has been leading the Bulls to a great record this season. I also believe the Bulls will make the playoffs reaching the 8th seed. He has been doing a great job running the offense for the Bulls. Doing a great job and getting other players open shots and doing a great job driving the lane and finishing. Winning has to be a part of winning the Rookie of the year award. Therefor, Rose has my vote.

Coach of the Year: Stan Van Gundy
    - Nobody thought the Orlando Magic would have such a great record at this point of the season. Some of the credit belongs to Stan Van Gundy. He and the Orlando Magic organization also wanted Rafer Alston on this team, he has experienced with him in the past during the 03-04 season. It was a smart move by Van Gundy and it was a smart move by the Orlando Magic organization.

Sixth Man of the Year: Jason Terry
    - No player has been more vital to their team off the bench than JET. He has been very good coming off the bench and having pretty good numbers. Although the injuries may have slowed him down, his impact has not. He is still one of the best scoring guards in the league and one of the more valuable Mavericks in the league. Since JET is the only candidate going to the playoffs. It should clearly be his award.

Most Improved Player of the Year:
Devin Harris - If Jameer Nelson had not gone out with the injury, I probably would have taken him. If Danny Granger also didn’t recently go out with an injury I probably would have went with him. Now that they are both gone, I think it’s a clear lane for Devin Harris to win it. Absolutely beasting up the stat sheet and more importantly leading the Nets to wins.

Executive of the Year: Danny Ferry
    - For now, I believe it is him. Simply because of the move he made to get Mo Williams. Mo has been extremely key for the Cavs. He is the 2nd scorer behind LeBron James and when LeBron sits Mo can score and he can score consistently and efficiently. It's no longer team LeBron. Getting Mo Williams was the best move during the off-season and Cavs are arguably the best team in the East with the Celtics.

Here is my predictions with depth thought, How about yours?

I agree with all your predictions, except I think LeBron will win MVP.

I wouldn't be surprised if he did to be honest. Considering the fact that Kobe and the Lakers have been struggling. I'm going to be honest, I actually wrote this article like a month ago. I revised it 2 weeks ago, and JET was out and I said Nate Robinson was going to win Sixth man, with JET back I believe he will win the 6th man of the year now.

I wouldn't be surprised if LeBron wins it, since he did completely rob Carmelo Anthony for ROY in 2003-2004. He actually has a case to win the MVP though.

Hmm Lebron winning the MVP this season will not be a steal .. really not . He is scoring more than Kobe, assisting more than Kobe, rebouding more than Kobe, blocking more than Kobe and involving more his teammates. His best teammates are Big Z and .. Mo Williams .. Kobe have Odom and Gasol with a way better bench than Cleveland. Cleveland has 49 victory and Lakers 50 ..

By the way Most Valuable Player has never been '' best player of the best team '' .. but the player who is the most valuable to his team. I think L.A could do something in the west without Kobe, maybe fighting for the 8th seed but I don't see cleveland anywhere without LeBron.

IMO D-Wade is more MVP material than Kobe ..

I think LeBron should win the MVP this year

I never said it would be a steal. All I am saying is that Even If Kobe and Wade had more of a case than LeBron, which I am not sure if they do. LeBron would probably still win because his team would have over 50 wins. His team winning has been the only thing holding him back from winning MVP.

I just mentioned the Melo one because It shows you how hyped up LeBron is.

Any chance Yao wins MVP? Maybe if the Rockets win the division and secure the number two seed?

    Probably not, huh.

No chance. Maybe Yao can win the sportsmanship award or something.

Though they have no chance to win it, I would like throw three names into the pot for Most Improved...

Aaron Brooks, Luis Scola & Von Wafer

    As for the others....

    MVP: LeBron
It's his year. The media has been anxious to officially label him "the" best and it's their chance to do so with the Cavs record where it is. I actually think D. Wade is more deserving though.

    DPOY: Howard
One of the best defensive teams in the league with a shot-blocking big man clogging the lane

    ROY: Rose
I think this will be like the Amare/Yao year where the "underdog was either just as or more so deserving. But, again, Rose has gotten the hype from the start of the year and people are going to point at Memphis' record as to why Mayo is putting up his numbers

    Coach of the Year: Sloan
Unfortunately, I think it's his to lose at this point. To have them competing at the top of the West at this point after all the injuries is remarkable. Adelman SHOULD come in a close second though.

Sixth Man of the Year: Terry
    I really haven't seen a better candidate

Most Improved Player of the Year: Granger
Devin Harris is in the convo as well

The Joe Dumars award? Yao is one of the best teamates, cheering when Wafer even hits a free-throw no other star in the league does that.

To everyone who thinks Howard should be DPOY... seriously? You're going to tell me that there's not one person in the entire league that's a better defender than Dwight Howard? Everyone here went bananas when Camby won, because we all know he's an atrocious one-on-one defender, just like Howard. I'd pick Chuck Hayes before I'd pick Howard for this award. It's incredible that people still only take into consideration rebounds and blocked shots.

Don't get me wrong, he's a great presence to have as a weak side defender, but he's so vastly overated on this defensive end it's not even funny. Hell, Chris Andersen shut down the lane against the Rockets the other night more than Dwight Howard ever has.

Anyway, now that I got my little rant out of the way (geez, I've been awfully ranty lately it seems), here's my predictions.

    MVP: Lebron James
    DPOY: Dwight Howard
    ROY: Derrick Rose
    COY: Jerry Sloan
    Sixth Man: Jason Terry
    MIP: Devin Harris

Of course, those are just who I think will win. As for who deserves to win...

    MVP: Dwyane Wade
    DPOY: Just not Howard
    ROY: Derrick Rose
    COY: Jerry Sloan
    Sixth Man: Nate Robinson
    MIP: Devin Harris

He has no chance with MVP this year, because it's just Wade-Kobe-LeBron, next season if he's a 100% and feeling fresh than maybe he can win it. Since he did retire for the China team and he's now more committed to play for the Rockets.

If he's the sixth man, who is their starting PG?

    My opinion:

    MVP: DWADE
    DPOY: DHOWARD
    ROY: DROSE
    MIP: DGRANGER
SMOY: LAMAR ODOM (does he count) sadly :(
    COY: RICK DA RULA
