http://www.nba.com/2010/news/10/21/instant-replay/index.html?ls=iref:nbahpt2 Some new rules added to the instant replay for the up and coming season I kinda laughed at the one where instant replay will be used to determine who shoots freethrows. This is like a direct response to that Crawford call during the Suns-Blazers series <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vaZIAXJJDKQ?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vaZIAXJJDKQ?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
Could have used these rules a few years ago against the mavs in the playoffs. Damn you, Michael Finley!
Crawford should have been sent to out to pasture a long time ago. Having him ref three of the seven Finals games last year was like a big FU from Stern the league's integrity.
No, these rules wouldn't have helped because the ball wasn't called out of bounds at all. These rule changes would only help if Finley had knocked the ball out and it had been given back to Dallas.
We need challenges like goodbug said. Rockets will usually get screwed with obviously wrong calls, when playing against teams like the Mavs or Lakers. Rockets could have made a challenge for Finley going out of bounds.
