Hopefuly this wasn't already posted, because the search func. isn't working. Anyways, NBA.com had a few of their analyists choose the top 10 players for each position for the All-Star game.

Steve is number 3 behind kobe and Payton; which is where he should be.

No. 3: Steve Francis, Houston Rockets
    Stats: 23.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 5.9 apg | Ranking: 22.2 VGM + 19.4 current = 41.6 overall
After missing 26 games last season because of various ailments, including migraines. But this season, Francis has been causing headaches for the opposition. Francis is averaging the most points in his four-year career and his rebounding and assists have remained steady.

They will have the center position up later.

Do you think Yao needs their love to be a starter in all-star?

i think that if they put yao in the top 3, more people will take notice, wich will increase his chances.

Chinese fans probably don't care what the NBA analysts have to say anyway. When the first round votes out, they will be embassed to find out that Yao won all-star starting center by a landslide.

Steve can get all-star starter easily too, if he start passing Ming the damn ball!

Ming doesn't deserve to start over Shaq.

Its not that big of a stretch this year. Shaq has been hurt most of the time and his team SUCKS.

But in the end, Ming doesn't deserve to start over Shaq.

However I have to add that I see no problem with Ming starting over Shaq, give the viewers what they want to see, but don't talk about how Ming deserves his spot.

Ming does deserve to start over shaq. Shaq so far this season has made nominal impact, the toe is still bothering him and he isn't near the player he was last year. I would say Yao is the best center in the League as of right now. Maybe when Shaq gets well again Yao will be the second best, but as of right now, the most dominating center in the L is Yao.

Well, according to the year for both of them, Ming has the edge over Shaq. With Shaq being hurt most of the season so far, Ming has shown everyone he can rumble w/ the best. I would definitely start Ming over Shaq and use Shaq as a backup. But the vote is up to the fans....so it doesn't matter what we say...

at this point shaq has what 5 games played, so ming deserves it. however by february if shaq is at his norm and the lakers are actually decent then of course he's still the best player in the game. but either way i think yao's got that starting spot.

It's pretty sad that Yao is the best when he isn't putting up the #'s that you'd expect from the best center in the league. He'll get there pretty soon, but he's still got plenty of room for improvement. What's sad is that there aren't any more good centers period. Shaq and Yao and that's it. What the hell happened? I guess #3 would be Ilgalskaus(spell?). If Shaq is healthy, he should be the starter. Remember, the allstar game isn't about winners, it's about the players with the best stats who catch the eye of the fans. Case in point, Francis last year, who missed so much of the season and played on a losing team.
