http://www.nba.com/milk_rookie/rookie_challenge_050127.html They just announced the rosters for this game. Man is the Sophomore team STACKED! They are going to KILL the Rookie team! Just take a look at the roster! SOPHOMORE Carmelo Anthony Chris Bosh Udonis Haslem Kirk Hinrich Josh Howard LeBron James Kyle Korver Luke Ridnour Dwyane Wade ROOKIES Tony Allen Luol Deng Ben Gordon Devin Harris Dwight Howard Andre Iguodala Emeka Okafor Josh Smith Beno Udrih
Do you think that Wade and James will play in both games? I know Yao did last year. If not that's the only way it would be even close....
Yes Wade and Lebron will play in both games. The NBA rule require this now. PS. Josh Smith of ATL is going to be a stud in this league. I love that guys game. I'll say the rookies take this game in an upset.
Feels good to read the names on those rosters and know that they're the future of the NBA, along with the established super stars the NBA will still be the best profesional sports league in the world for years to come.
yeah cleveland is just hoping lebron can take another chance to land on someone's foot again. of course, i suppose some sort of defense would have to be played for that to happen so i guess they'll be safe. and since when did you have to play in this if you make the big game? isn't that a little taxing (even as laid back as ASG's are) considering this is a time a lot of guys refuel for the second half?
If any player is selected to play in the All-Star Game, which James and Wade are expected to be, they will be relieved of their Saturday duties. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/spt/stories/012805dnspomavsbrite.4d63f602.html Howard, Harris will play in NBA's Rookie Challenge 03:34 PM CST on Thursday, January 27, 2005 By EDDIE SEFKO / The Dallas Morning News Josh Howard and Devin Harris have been the Mavericks' starting backcourt many times this season, but they will be competing against each other on All-Star Saturday. If any player is selected to play in the All-Star Game, which James and Wade are expected to be, they will be relieved of their Saturday duties.
I thought last years Rook vs Soph sucked! The only reason I was watching is because Yao was gonna play (new rule i think) and he only got like 5 minutes..weak
i like how they didnt put nocioni and chris duhon on the rookie team because they didnt want five bulls playing in the game. duhon i think is leading the rookie class in assist and nocioni has been integral to the bulls' success. beno udrih and tony allen? what a crock.
Yao had to play both games last year. However, they did do him a favor by only playing him for 7 min in the rookie vs sophomore game.
I dont really mind watching Tony Allen, hes got an exciting game. The guy I thought should be on the rookie team is Al Jefferson of Boston. He seems like hes got a good career ahead of him.
If this is a real game, the rooks may win. Look at the sophomore team frontline. It consists of Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem, with no real power player.
ill put money on the rookies, sophs are more talented but during allstar weekend, they are more likely to showboat. Rooks are much more solid and more likely to play defense.
I dont know if the NBA is yet at the point where it could do this, but I'd love to see a rookie game between U.S. born rookies and overseas rookie players in the NBA.
I've always thought the Rooks vs. Sophs should be more of a 3 on 3 game. It's an exhibition game anyways why not really open the game up? Just have 4 rookies, 8 Sophs and have a blind draw for each squad (4 rooks on one team, 4 on the other, etc).
Last year's sophomore team destroyed the rookie team and it was not even remotely close. I remember that it was a dunk feast from beginning to the end. It was the most boring game I have ever watched.
