Anyone playing association and have any stories? What happens to other teams a couple years down the road? Did you try competing for the FA stars of 2k10? Does anyone try playing the business side of the game and have the most cap room? If you want to get Lebron James or anyone for that matter (I only tried it on Lebron) make sure to use all the options to improve including 4 year plus player option and No Trade Clause. It was crazy, I had 2 lottery picks (1 and 6) (yes I do reload when i don't get my picks!), LJ, YM and AB in my starting line up. Felt sorry for a bunch of todays good team cause after 2 years of association they get so sucky. Then the sucky teams become hella good its like whoa. I've tried about 3 associations so far and Artest never stays with me (don't make him 6th man or he wont even consider your negotiations its crazy). Brooks was sooo (88, 92 with morale) good by the time his contract was up he wasn't sticking around either So anyone else got there stories?
I have played the game for 3hrs max since I got it on day 1. The patch will be out in 1-2 days (PS3), I am excited about finally being able to play.
i can play maybe one online game a week if i'm lucky on ps3. it's just ridiculous how poor 2k online is.
oh and i haven't finished a year in association yet; i'm actually playing every game so i'm only through maybe 10 games.
I did that with 2k8 and yes it took forever so now I do like every other game and once I am in 2k10...11 and so forth its like 1 game outta the week. And yes if the simulation loses I accept it, hah. Its funny where players end up after FA or trades. Oh and I dont think its 2k online thats poor? I play on 360 and its pretty good. Maybe its the combo of PS3 online and 2k?
I think I've seen it all. Head in 11-12 season is rated 78 but averaging 22 ppg with the bucks (also on the last year of his contract for 8mil???) (also a 2 to 1 assist:TO ratio) but I only noticed when I played the all star game, HEADS WAS AT THE FREAKING ALL STAR GAME!!
I won the Lebron sweepstakes in 2010, by letting Tmac walk. Then resigned Tmac with his bird rights to go over the cap. Had a team with like 7 guys rated 90 (Yao, Tmac, Lebron, Julian Wright, and 2 rookies) or higher but then lost Wright and the 2 rookies to FA because not enough playing time. Pretty tough to balance a team full of superstars because once they start complaining, their rating goes down so much.
I can't play The Association mode. Scores are too high when simulated, stupid ass traded are made by the CPU, trades in general are broken. Teams will make trades that even Isiah Thomas wouldn't even pull.
I play a 29 game season and added myself as a power forward.....because its realistic like that! First season I was pushed all the way in the first round by the Clippers who seem to be the type of side I struggled against. Then in the second round my power forward got injured after a win in game one and that was it, the Suns rolled. In the second season I have three games to go in the regular seas and have only lost one game to the 76'ers. I think this team Ive put together is rated about 08 though. However after this season I wil probably lose TMac, Travis Outlaw who I got in a steal of a trade, and a few other very handy backups who Ive been lucky to draft for and who turned out to be very good despite being low picks. So after this season its all back to reality a bit, but I'm looking forward to it being a bit of a struggle.
