I know I'm not the only one crazy about this game. Complete ratings just got released last Friday: http://sports.ign.com/articles/731/731817p6.html T-Mac got screwed, and Battier's 3-pointers got MAJORLY screwed. But anyway, make of them what you will. And for anyone who hasn't been keeping up on this game: nearly every player of any importance in the entire league will have custom animations assigned to them, including jumpers, dribble moves, and passes (just like Shaq last game... except now EVERYONE gets the custom treatment). Shawn Marion will have his ugly jumpshot. T-Mac will have his sick crossover. Iverson will palm the ball. I'm not going to have a life when this comes out.
Tmac doesnt seem like he got screwed TOO bad. I cant belive Yao didnt even crack an overall rating of 90.
That has nothing to do with Yao and is a game balancing issue - all big men get low ratings in layups, but high ratings in inside shots. The game defines lay-ups as running the court, fast break type lay-ups for shorter players. Accordignly Centers are given low rankings in layups so that the AI doesn't default to the layup animation/shot rather than just laying the ball in (using the "close shot" rating) "big man" style.
Stupid! For whatever reason they jacked up Bosh's durability, stamina, and offensive awareness ratings into the 90's - silly. Will have to make some adjustments; I haven't bought in NBA game since 2k3 but am looking forward to this one.
Yao with a 90 on post offense (9 below shaq), and then they give Dwight Howard an 89. That guy has a Mutombo-like touch. edit: also good to see Amare coming off a major knee injury with a 93 rating.
It also looks as if VSpan, JL3, Novak, and Hayes aren't on the roster. Unless of course they aren't listed on the 12 man active roster and 3 of them are listed on the 3 man inactive spots. I think the Rockets ratings which are low....are more reflective of the team playing terrible last year. Clearly Yao should be better in a few categories. Camby is an 88. And Tmac should be better in some as well. What the heck is Lampe doing on the roster? I think 2k dropped the ball on some of these rosters, especially as it pertains to foreign players and such.
Seems like they didn't pay much attention to Yao the second half of the season. Regardless, you can adjust - and I will - and I'm still looking forward to this. Gonna be great.
Yea, saw these the other day but I think these rating are from an older build of the game IGN had. The whole thing is a mess with messed up ratings, players on wrong teams and missing players. This game looks unreal this year though.
I would think so too. On the loading screens of most basketball games in the past it's always said something like "Rosters are accurate as of September 15th, XXXX". At least I'm pretty certain it's around that date. That means that this is an old build and everything will eventually be accurate as of the end of this week. In fact, maybe these ratings are from before the World Championships and they weren't sure about Yao's foot and that's why they gave him the "low" rating. Maybe after his impressive play they'll rethink that number before the deadline. Probably not though.
Yeah, but bball games used to be released in late October, and now they're released in late September. I wouldn't be at all surprised if these were the quote unquote "final" rosters, however I'd think they would have an online roster update out the day they release the game.
for everyone talking about adjusting the ratings...this doesn't work online does it? as in if you're a gamer who likes and wants to play online a lot and on the ladders, do they force you to use default rosters then?
Man... I feel the same way... I've had it reserved for awhile... I really want to see what they do with Yao... as far as his post game, and jumpers. I hope the physics won't make it look akward. Yao is too smooth! Thank God for XBOX360!!! and Bill Gates!
