As we all know, last year we started off the year very slow. Granted we didn't have many injuries like we do this year, we still truggled for various reasons. In order to fix that problem we tweaked our roster to fix the problem. Our first move was Tyronne Lue for Jon Barry. Many people didn't think Barry would've been that big of an impact but it was huge for us. I felt this was the biggest move because it allowed us to get rid of Lue who didn't pan out and allowed us to acquire a saavy veteran who brought leadership and a spirit of winning. For as much as we struggled in the early part, the day we acquired Barry I knew we would make it to the playoffs w/o a doubt and things were going to change right away. 2- Jim Jackson- I thought he would've played great along with McGrady but he didn't hit open shots and seemed as though he had forgotten how to play all together. So we got David Wesley in return. This trade I felt we didn't get enough in return however, Wesley played well for the most part. 3- Not till later, but we got rid of Mo, acquired Mike James etc etc My point is, On December 15th last year we were 9-12. On December 15th This Year we were 9-12 as well after defeating the Kings. With Yao going down the next couple to a few weeks are going to be very tough without a doubt. However, I think the sooner Bob Sura gets back I think if he can play 80% up to his ability I will have that same feeling we did when we originally acquired Jon Barry. Also the sooner Jon Barry and Alston come back it will help as well. The point of this thread is to show that there is still hope. We played just over 1/4 of the season and McGrady is just starting to heat up so I'm excited and I still BELIEVE! For Further hope please refer to Clutch's Article written around last year. http://www.clutchfans.net/news.cfm?NewsID=1178
Maybe my memory is wrong, but wasn't JJ going on a long streak of 3 pointers right before he was traded?
Trade rumors will do that to you. Also, there's no need to include the FIRST post on your reply if you're the only one who has replied... we all know to whom you're replying and, on top of that, your response is short (not that [a short reply] is really is a drawback). This prevents us from scrolling much and the server from saving much. Just something others may not have noticed... don't get upset at that, yo.
