...is what this team needs. They're not getting it yet, but I think everyone here will agree that this team is getting better game in and game out. Yeah its easy to say after a win in Oakland but I'm starting to expect wins and that's a good sign... ------------------ "He said hop on his back and he was goin' ta take us to the promise land...and that' what he done." -- Robert Horry '95
I wish I could agree with you, but the last two games the Rockets have played poorly. They've just been lucky to play against teams that didnt take advantage of it. I mean, we did have 20 TOs tonight, twice the amount the Warriors had. ------------------ http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/houstonrockets2000
And we were on the road. The home team is expected to make those runs. And we still won. Your arguement only works for home games. ------------------ Behad Sergeant at Arms of the Clutch BBS
Cmon Man, Last year we were losing these games? Would you rather be doing that or winning the games we are supposed to be winning? ------------------ Rockets Season Ticket Holder
DaneB, The Rockets may have played poorly against the last two teams, who happen to be terrible, but they play down (and sometimes, up) to the competition's level. They have done this ever since I have watched them. It seems as though it is our defining characteristic. The fact that we won, despite our troubles, shows character as well as blowing out teams. The fact is, there will be many more close games for the Rockets than there will be blowouts, and I don't mind us getting practice winning games in the fourth quarter. ------------------ She hates testicles, thus limiting the men she can admire to Democratic candidates for president. -- John Greenway, "The American Tradition", on feminist Elizabeth Gould Davis
I still think we're not where we should be as far as national respect.Oh to be in the East ------------------ [This message has been edited by Summer Song Giver (edited December 15, 2000).]
DaneB, Lakers played poorly gainst GS, they lost to them, Minnesota lost to them, Pheonix lost to them. This is not your mama's GS team, they can get it up. They got confidence in 3rd quarter, give props to Rockets for pulling it out. Squeeking through a couple of lower teams with a win is not a good point in oposition to getting National Recognition. Bad teams always have wins against the good teams, they get it up...Yet we are winning gainst bad and good teams. Consistency is the only reason I would say they haven't got National Recognition, some nights they play great and are entertaining, some other nights earlier this season they have stunk and been unbearable(To be expected with young team) Hmmm ok must go, bye ------------------
Who cares about national respect...we got Clutchity.net, man. We have a Screamin' Aussie explaing ways to a good character. We have a person from Chicago giving us pitying examples of patience and suffering. We've had canadians try to teach us the potential of teams and players that are ink-blotted on high-quality paper. National recognition? It's here...look around. ------------------
I feel that if we fall behind we can always get back into the game and that is awesome feeling. This is a characteristic of great teams, they know that they can win. The Rocket have been lucky no to push it to far and last night this almost happen. If we would had lost last night because Mobley was playing with the ball, today would have been hell. Plus the last couple of game we have been up by at least 15 and just let the other teams come back to make it interesting. ------------------ "Instinctly u recognize things, now take advantage of what u just recognized!"..
