If they play them one inning at a time, one game at a time, one series at a time. Meaning, they have to do whatever it takes to win games. Steal them, suicide squeeze them, sac fly, save, outslug, out defense ... whatever it takes. Must play with a consistent, competitive fire. No more excuses, or else Nostradamus could even make this prediction and it will not come true. But, yes it's possible-it could happen.

It is still very possible, we just need to want it more than the other teams! Every game, every inning, every out. We have to show that hunger. As the TNT crew (I think it was Kenny or maybe Chuck) once said... you gotta eat soup with a fork!

I sure wish we would go ahead and bring up Hirsch and plug him into the rotation. We would have a legit shot at playing .750 ball over the next couple months if we did that. Why is it that these guys don't play until their backs are against the wall?

On espn, they were saying that since national league games are basically irrelevant that they were considering just using the 5,6,7 and 8th best AL teams to make the games more exciting. I think it's a good idea, it would increase ratings and give fans a reason to watch the world series. Any team could win! Now the series is like watching Michael Jordan play 1 on 1 against his little kids. Or it's like watching Yao Ming get into a rebounding contest with a midget. Comments?

My comment is that that is ridiculous. Last year's world series was extremely close. Every single game was a nail-biter.

I heard Chicago fans were given espresso shots to keep them awake.

Diehard Whitesox fan watching game 4 of the world series.
And how do you know every game was a nailbiter, the whitesox were probably just toying around with the astros. My inside sources were telling me that the sox played with their opposite hand to make the game a little more fun. For example, in game 1 when buherle pitched right handed for no reason? Now you know why. :)

If it were up to ESPN the Yankess and Red Sox would be in every postseason even if they lost 100 games each. They're the biggest homers I've ever seen which is rediculous since they're purporting to be a "national" sports channel.

I was too distracted by my disgust for Carlos Beltran to read the review.

i don't know why people make such a big deal about analyst predictions. when all is said and done what difference does it make? if everyone on the panel picks us to win the WC, it doesn't make our team any better. sure, you can call it National Love. but if Clemens wasn't on this team, we wouldn't even be a blip on their radar.

The Yankees are going to limp into the playoffs with a pitiful pitching staff. That is really embarassing considering the size of the payroll. Definitely the gayest franchise in professional sports history, and they play in the worst city in the history of human civilization. Enough comments or should I provide more?

i don't think the yankees will win in the playoffs...but it won't be because they choked. it will be because someone else's starting pitching is better than theirs. have i ever mentioned before how key starting pitching is? ;)

Okay. If the starting pitching isn't good enough, the management team choked. How's that? Bottom line: Yankees are still incredible douchebags.
