Anyone else been experiencing this year's nasty cold? Feels almost like the flu, and then you have a cough (the pull-a-muscle type) for 4-8 weeks. Keep taking your echinacea and C ... you don't want to catch this one!
i still have it ...my wife has it ..my visiting brother in law has it ...almost everyone in my office has it i feel like that guy in Outbreak who got bit by the damn monkey ......the Center for Disease Control will be looking to drop a nuke on my house Dr. said its a virus ...so no anti biotics over the counter Mucinex works good to get the crud out of your lungs and Tussin CF was the best decongestant I have used so far
damn. yes, i have it. coughing up the yellow/green/brown stuff. mornings are gross because you have to let it drain from the build up from the night. i've been high on dayquil the last couple of days.
My son got it first, then I got it. I had the cough for about 6 weeks, my son for about 2 months ... then my daughter and wife (who never gets sick) caught it. They're finally recovering after another month or so, now I feel it coming on again. Persistent li'l cuss.
i got a flu shot, so my symptoms were diminished. i felt bad for one night, and was left with a cough for 2 weeks. all kinds of crap in my lungs. i even found a 6 inch replica of the Eiffel Tower in there. very weird.
Sounds like a case of herpes, quite possibly could be, jk Herpes symptoms: Not only will you expereince sores on the mouth or genetalia, but also strong flu-like symptoms wil occur too.
Ditto..... The mornings suck. I have to take Tylenol Severe Cold Nightime every night just so I can fall asleep. Then its about 10 - 15 minutes in the morning coughing and hacking up green and yellow crap. Its disgusting and I really want it to go away........ Any other remedies?? Ive been taking Tylenol Cold and Flu with the Tussin CF pills during the day. Tylenol Severe Cold Nighttime at night (works well).
It's hitting Dallas, too. I had a couple of co-workers with it. One decided to use my keyboard while I was away from my desk and try to infect me. Ugh. A lady at Best Buy rang me up and promptly began coughing like she was trying to spit up a lung, then handed me my receipt. Luckily I've avoided contracting anything so far despite their best efforts... *keeping fingers crossed*
Vitamin C and Zinc are good. I take others as well. I took 3 grams of C twice a day while I had it. The only other thing I took (so I could sleep) was green death. My wife doesn't take the vitamins and had it for weeks along with my daughter. I had a minor chest cold for a few days and then it passed. I don't always eat as healthy as some of you, hence the vitamins.
I had something close to that last weekend. Didn't help that I was determined to be out in the snow. But no way I was going to miss that....it's mostly cleared up now.
As I said, it's trying to repeat on me so I'm taking everything: C, zinc lozenges, elderberry extract, echinacea, acidopholus, GSE (yuk), green juice, whey. Seem to be holding it off this time; imagine my immune system had it's number this time round too.
Yeah I've have the most terrible cough since Finals this past semester. It used to be so bad it'd keep me up all night coughing. My whole throat feels swollen. Now, I'm just coughing here and there but it's like a bad deep down uncontrollable type of cough that sometime will like have me to the point of gagging. Funny thing is I'm not even really coughing up anything nasty, so I don't know why I've got it so bad...
codell's suggestion of Mucinex might work well for you. I think it's like a time-release version of Robitussin. Very effective.
I found that either Sudafed or Clairton D worked to both suppress my cough and to clear my congestion. It still sucked though.
