One minute they were talking about 72 wins.

Now... it's UNclear to me they can even win a game.

    Steve Nash is SOOOO good.

I'm unsure if he's the MVP of his own team. I think if you were to take Marion or Stoudamire off of that team, they would suffer just as much as they did without Nash. All 3 of those guys have played fantastic basketball this season and should easily make the all-star team.

There is NO WAY Suns will win the title this year.

Tonight playing vs Knicks they allowed 118 points

I just hope D'Antoni does not win coach of the year as he has been exposed. The only difference between his current stinct with the Suns and his last NBA stinct with the Nuggets is Nash!!!

I know the voters not miss this when the time comes.

How do you figure that when they were both in Phoenix last year and the team avg'd about 20 points less per game? Nash joins the team and they now avg 110. He gets injured and they start averaging 85. Nash is the reason that these guys get the open looks they need to score. Without him (as we saw in 5 games), they simply don't get the same quality shots.

Funny that Dallas doesn't seem to be missing the MVP:

Dallas winning % with Nash last year - .634
    Dallas winning % w/o Nash this year - .675

    It's still Duncan.

I’d argue Nash needs them as much as they need him.

Sure, if you take Nash off of their team, they don’t score 110 a game. But if you take Marion or Stoudamire off their team, I doubt they’d be able to score 110 either.

I don't beleive anyone here stated that Nash was the MVP on the Mavs team. He's the most valuable player in the league as a member of the Phoenix Suns

Nash it a pure PG with the ability to open up the floor for his teammates. I think the Suns rely heavily on their "big three" in order to win games, since they obviously would give up plenty of points with their fast-pace 3 point shooting offense. If I remember right, they shot 31 3-pointers last night, making 16 of them. I do believe, however, that if they struggle at the arc (which they will at times against better defensive teams), they might have trouble winning at a high pressure game (let's say a second round playoff game).

The other possibility is.... maybe wherever Marbury leaves, the team's destined for a great future.... Marbury leaves Minny in a trade that (I believe) brought Cassell to the Wolves... wolves gets top seed in a hard-fought Western Conf. Marbury leaves NJ, Kidd takes them to 2 finals... and Marbury traded from Phoenix last year.... but I digress.

I believe that with a fast tempo game, and a running offense that spots up at the 3 point line, they will definitely get many open shots. What makes it more amazing is that they have 5+ guys (if you include JJ) that could shoot it well consistantly. Marion's shooting style is actually turning out OK, and now you have a team that relies on outscoring the opposition, which is very refreshing considering what we've been seeing the past few championship series. Nash seems to be THE difference maker from last year. He has the veteran leadership to be their ball handler, so just maybe, he should be one of the favorites for MVP, even though he scores less than 25PPG.

Can't be MVP is you're only half a player.

Duncan can dominate on both offense AND defense, Nash cannot.

i'm conflicted. i know nash isn't better than duncan, kg, kobe, tmac, shaq, wade, or lebron, or nowitzki.

yet when talking valuable how do i ignore 0-6 without him (or was it 0-5?) and something like 32-5 with him. it would be one thing if it was just two games they lost without him b/c you could argue it was a fluke or another if they didn't look horrendous without him. as it is, they go from best record to winless back to going to OT with the best team (SA) and winning the rest when he gets back.

i think duncan is the best player but i don't feel like he needs yet another mvp (you're telling me tim duncan should have more mvp's than hakeem olajuwon and shaquille o'neal combined?).

lebron is friggin' amazing and yet i just don't quite think he should get it (and if he does at only 20, does he practically win it from here on out?).

and i'll be damned if i give it to shaq when wade is just as responsible for the team's success and they don't beat the west.

so i don't know who to vote for. i voted for nash on espn's question of the night, though.

Nash, with no doubt, is a contender of MVP this year. With the addtion of only two players (Q and nash), you can see how much suns change?

He is not that good on defensive end. Actually premiter players are hard to have such a big influence on defense like Duncan or Shaq do. But his assists and motivation to the whole team is simply priceless.
