Here's an article on the Space Station -- and why we haven't heard much about it lately. So much for International space cooperation.

More problems with the space station. Should we re-work this deal?

Shuttle astronauts launch repair work on orbiting station http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/metropolitan/558775

The long list of maintenance activities will take the Atlantis crew inside the station's Russian power, propulsion and guidance module and a smaller U.S. hub for the first time tonight. As they float aboard to begin replacing faltering power storage batteries, the astronauts will wear earplugs and drag along portable fans. NASA issued the equipment so the Atlantis crew can fend off the poor air quality and the din of electronic equipment, encountered by the crew of a shuttle supply mission in June.
