    This is my list:

    Dwight
    Bynum
    Gasol
    Gasol
    Cousins
    Gortat
    Monroe
    Bogut
    Nene
    Horford
    Garnett
    Perkins
    Chandler
    Noah
    Varajao

At worst, I have him ranked 16th best, and that is including Pau Gasol as a starting center, since Pau would likely be the starting 5 on most other teams besides the Lakers.

I tried to give as many of these guys the benefit of the doubt as possible.

If you notice the list, after about the first 8-10, it starts fading into mostly defensive centers. On any given night or series, I think Camby neutralizes most of the lower 5-7 guys. He's mostly a one-way player, although if he gets his little 15-17 foot set shot working again, he can be more effective than some of these guys offensively because he is very bball smart and doesn't throw up a lot of trash.

Camby was a substantial upgrade to our starting 5. Don't see how you can argue he's a top 15-16 big man in the league. He's gonna be an ideal backup center for the next 4 years or so after we finally get our starting center.

Don't consider the bolded ones centers.

So, rate the centers that are better than Camby.

I'd add Okafor to that list. Maybe DeAndre Jordan just because he's younger.

    LOL. Knew that was coming.

Personally, I think in a 7-game series Camby tears him a new one.

The rest I agree with, just saying those 3 aren't really centers so I wouldn't consider them on my list.

You consistently underestimate Hibbert... he has evolved into an all-star caliber center. Which is why he--wait for it!--made the all-star team this year!

Okafor is a good defender, no doubt. I left him behind Camby because he simply doesn't effect shots as much nor does he dominates the boards like Camby does when he is on the court. Sorry, I think Camby is better.

Jordan?? You honestly think Jordan is a better center than Camby? Honestly, Jordan is a terrible defender. He fouls way too much and doesn't do anything well except get up high to block a couple shots and throw down a couple dunks. Frankly, I think he stinks.

By your logic Jopatmc, Morey stole a better center than Hibbert for Thabeet and Flynn!

Morey should be charged for aggravated sexual assault!

Undermine....is a better word than underestimate. I constantly undermine Hibbert's game because it is shallow and he wilts under pressure. Won't come off that until he proves me wrong just like I won't come off Westbrook being the achilles heal of the Thunder until he proves me wrong. Chuck Hayes is a better center than Hibbert.

Just don't think Hibbert is that good. If I had to pick between the two guys for the guy I wanted on my team, I'd take Camby.

You realize Camby is 37, would be 41 in the next few years, we do not quite have reliable starting option at centers.

In your list, you included Perkins and Varajao, but left out Al Jefferson, Brook Lopez, Nikola Pekovic, Roy Hibbert, and Chris Kaman.

I like Plutoblue11's list. I would also add All-stars Tim Duncan and LaMarcus Aldridge. Kevin Love can be added to the list, he is starting at C in Pekovic's place. Camby will have a hard time against all 3 of those guys.

That's most of the league except for a handful of centers.

Camby is a top 5 center based on skill, but there are more than about 15 other centers I would rather have based on potential or youth.
