You don't see much positive spin on this board. Take a minute to post something you think our government or this administration does well. I know it sounds cheesy but I am interested in the response. And for the sake of this experiment try not to respond with some wise ass comment like "bomb third world countries".

Everything around us. You got up this morning and drove to work on a government built road (or you took public transit). You and your co-workers are the products of some form of government funded education, you're probably sitting in an air-conditioned office and not afraid for your safety right now, due to government protection.

Havign a stable, effective, fuctional, and more or less trustworthy government is a pre-requisite to having a prosperous, livable, functional, society. If you've been to places that don't have that situation, you'd realize how much we take for granted.

Amen. We've also developed a superb volunteer military. It's civilian leadership sucks, to be generous, it's been poorly used in some places (Iraq), and used very well in others (Afghanistan and the Balkans), and there are some general staff that are too eager to tell the incompetent civilian leadership what they want to hear, but the vast majority do a great job, soldier on, despite the BS they have to contend with, and save their criticism for after they retire. All in all, I couldn't be happier with our people, and they deserve more benefits than they are recieving, along with new civilian leadership. We can go a long way towards fixing that this November.

I'll also add that your typical government worker here in Texas is underpaid, and overworked, with civilian leadership as bad as that in Washington. I'd love to see something done about that, as well.

    Keep D&D Civil.

Our government and its founding fathers have created allowed
for the free flow of ideas and commerce and have kept their noses
out of it better than most countries in the world.

That has enabled us to have the strongest economy in the world by
far giving us one of the (if not the) highest standard of living in the
world. Though I don't credit the government or any administration
for the long-term success of the economy, their hands-off approach
has enabled our economy to prosper while other european nations
falter with their large government intervention in business weakening
their job market, their economy and their future.

    1. Delaying the ruin of the economy through debt.
The supression of gold prices and oil prices the past 10 yrs. has taken brilliant effort seeing that trillions of debt (not including derivitive debts) render paper money an illusion and in reality useless)

    2. The ability to tie the purchase of oil to the dollar so that with a combination of cheap imports the standard of living could increase slightly over the past 10 years.

    3. Acheiving strategic military position closest to majority of the remaining oil reserves. Without this advantage our dollar would not be near as secure for the short term.

    4. Keeping most of America in the dark as to what in the world fiat currency, central banks, cheap imports, outsourcing, trade agreements, oil, debt and war have to do with buying a new home, new car and holding a job in the most 'prosperous nation on earth'.

What they have done a very poor job of is letting anyone in on what is going to happen if the do-do hits the fan. :D

Leaving ALL sarcasm aside it took brilliance to get us to this point. ;)

My taxes have been lowered. As many of you know, this is the issue that my vote is based on.

    OSHA and its protections
    EPA
    Volunteer military
Basic infrastructure (roads, power grids, telecommunications grids, postal service)
    Educational opportunity

    This administration:

Heck of a lot easier to answer using the first. Seems like everything this administration does ends up tearing down something good built by previous administrations and generations.
