I would protect him. I think Boki will be a very good role player in this league and I have been extremely impressed by his defensive efforts when he has gotten playing time.
I'd protect him, sure. I want Spoon or Taylor unprotected. He's still got value to us for next year. What do you think you could get for him?
It was realy great to see him come out of his shell and give us a chance to have a glimpse of the future. Don't you think?
All I know is that three-pointer in the closing seconds that essentially sealed the victory (from 102-100 to 105-100) was a very cold-blooded shot and he hit it with utter confidence. A highly promising sign.
Come on guys, keep posting, start another sell high thread or something. Now that the Rockets have made the playoffs I am having withdrawal symptoms... SS999
Being a BOF I think it would be much better for Boki to be on a team with a free flowing offense that can run the floor. Can y'all imagine Boki flying down the court with the Nets or flowing outside for a three with the Sonics or Memphis. The Rox are holding back Boki's potential and he needs to be traded so he can become the star all of us BOF's believe he should be. FREE BOKI!
Boki seems nervous everytime he steps on court.. and he doesn't seem to blend in the game.. IMO .. when someone kicks it out.. and the rockets swings the ball.. once it hits bokis hand , boki would drive it in with the defender on him rather than give that extra swing pass.. and with Boki, he is not the best ball handler out there so it just gives me the creeps .. JMO though
I agree. Boki's game requires that the ball be in his hands all the time and I'm not sure if he and Yao can co-exist. Yao clogging the middle really hurts Boki's penetration, and I don't know if Boki can handle not being "the man" with Yao in town. I say trade him while we have the chance.
Isn't he taking up a decent amount of salary as a first round pick? There is no way he should be protected, unless we want to unload our higher priced guys. I don't see him ever being a significant player at this point. Yeah, he shows some flashes, for the TEN minutes a game he plays.
I wipe car windows for a few coins, on one of the busiest roads in one of the world's most vibrant cities. Before I returned to my luxurious under-the-bridge personal space from a hard working day every night, I stopped by the $1 all night Internet Cafe to post on Clutch BBS. Unfortunately, I am still looking for a player to bash. I haven't the silky skills nor the keenly critical eye of some New Yorker... I wish I could bash Boki some day - so please let him stay. After all, you don't want Yao to be heartbroken. SS999
Boki is not making any signinficant money, I think it's slightly over $1 million each year. His rookie contract runs for 3 more years so we can keep him on as a 12th man type. But if he could ever develop a consistent jump shot he could become a contributing player. Till then, scrub city.
Boki has a friendly contract and shows flashes of game from time to time. We include him in a trade if it brings us somebody really good, and we certainly do not leave him unprotected.
