I don't want to look like some Boki freek, but this is the only thing that is going on in Europe and has some conection with Rockets. Yesterday I watched Nachbar in action. Slovenian NT played a friendly game against Greek side Olympiacos as the preparation for European championship. He looked very good on offense. He hit some three pointers and he had some good drives. But the best part of his game were his fast breaks. On both ends. His passed very accurate, and he finished a few of them with style (even with a monster dunk). I would like to see more aggressiveness and self confidence from him, but he needs some playing time to get there I guess. On defensive end of the court he was all hustle, but he looked a little slow on his feet, so he got himself in trouble quite a few times. To sum it up: he had a very nice game, but still has a lot of work to do.
I'm sure someone in the Rockets organization watched the game as well; meaning I hope they were as impressed with his game as you were. I can't imagine the Rockets leaving him on the bench again this season. If we do that, he will just turn into another Dan Lanky.
I'm glad to hear Boki can play. He has never had a chance to play here, so I have not seen him play well... I really hope this can be a break out year for him.
MAN BOKI is going to be the man.. He is going to be our future 3... Most of the international players that come from overseas start out as bust... But lots of them turn into pretty good players... Boki is going to be great lets just not let him lose his confidence on the bench... He should be playing more this season... I hope he becomes a starter... Cuz we need a shooter like him... Boki was a good pick, and well i know we will get the best out of him... I know JVG will... GO BOKI YAYYY!!!!
It's as simple as this. If he deserves playing time he will get it. Looking pretty good against a european team isn't exactly forcing the coaches hand when it's obvious he still needs TONS of work defensively. JVG isn't gonna put up with all that matador defense like Rudy did. It may be time to start preparing ourselves for the fact that Boki may be Rudy's last suck ass draft pick and move on. Not saying he is just yet, but I'm definitely on the fence with him already.
Um...don't you have a thread about the Rockets saving up to get Hedo Turkogluuuueeeeey as our 3? I'm just messing with you. I think I may know what you mean...maybe. If Boki is doing good, that's good...real good..I guess. He may have had some confidence problems after the injury and being on the bench all season. If he is starting to be able to hit those open shots and create a little for himself, he should do ok this year. Just needs to learn some defense.
YEAH... haha... its kind of funny how i started a Turkoglu thread... I would like him to come over here.. seriously.. like if Boki does turn out to be a bust... But i dont know i think boki has potential... maybe if they kick him where the sun dont shine or something, or the threating him to do something if he dont play how he is suppose to maybe he'll turn out great hahahah..J.K
I think you have to be on the fence with Boki, there are several personnel topics that I'm interested in and we will get the answer on this...
Maybe so, but EG is also starting to smell pretty ripe right about now as well and they gave up an awful lot to get him here.
i was excited when we drafted him and hope he gets some pt this season. one question, though... which current player will his game potentially mirror most? i'm thinking prime kukoc or even petro or hedo. is boki a slasher or sharpshooter or midrange guy?
From watching his game he seems to want to run, be a slasher, and a shooter. I'm not so sure about the mid-range.
Why do you guys think he did so badly in the summer leagues? He had a chance to shine and he just didn't come through. I was very disappointed. I want him to do well too, but, nothing so far. I was so excited about hearing of the incredible shooting performance he put on during his pre-draft workout. It has all been down hill since then.
I don't wana sound like a nut, but his numbers bear a striking resemblence to Peja's rookie stats (which were generated at the same age) when adjusted for playing time. I looked into this because they physically are similar and do some similar characteristics (they both strike me as fast and strong when driving straight ahead guys neither impresses me as the type to turn on a dime, for instance). Again, not to say that Boki's going to be Peja, but people who consider the situation at this point to be dire are perhaps a bit impatient.
MAN i been noticing that for so long.. cuz like i spend a lot of time analyzing stats.. and what you are saying its so true.. BOKI = FUTURE.. at SF
I think part of it was that he felt pressure to perform, since it was only, what, 5 games? Also, he was supposed to be the bona fide #1 option on the summer league team. The other teams knew this as well, so they were more focused on stopping him- something he won't have to worry about in the regular season. Hopefully, he'll be a little better without the pressure of being the man, and will benefit from being open, since he'll be the third (or fourth) option most of the time.
hopefully this will be the future line up C: Yao/Cato PF: EG/MoT SF: BOKI/adrian griffin/ep/gr (il maybe) SG: CAT/ep/jh ? PG: Franchise/Mooch
