Yes, it is true. I am dying for a reason to jump on a Nachbar bandwagon. I'm not sure, but are Yao and Bostjan the only players on the roster drafted by the Rockets? All the more reason to root for the guy!

    - We know he made some energetic plays and was a good bench player in the playoffs last year.
    - We know that he can run the floor.
    - We know that he is the closest thing our team has to a prototype small forward.
    - We know that for some reason in the past he was labeled a shooter.

What we don't know is if he can overcome his inconsistencies to become reliable and productive. That said, it appears we might have a gamer on our hands. Look at the facts. He emerged as a player to at least look at when the pressure of the playoffs kicked in last year. He had a poor preseason. Now that the regular season has started and there is a reason to work, he comes off the bench and kick starts the team.

Maybe the guy is A.D.D. and needs a little pressure to focus and concentrate.

I would of liked to see him play more tonight. He did a good job coming off the bench when we needed him.

Boki's success depends on two things:

    1. His ability to knock down open shots.
    2. His man-on-man defense.

If he plays solid defense - not perfect, but solid - and is able to hit shots when he is open (and he'll be open ALOT with Yao and T-Mac), he can be a VERY solid addition to the team. His big problem has been practicing well and not stepping up in games.

I hope this is a breakout season for him. They definitely need him.

I agree completely... Boki needs to watch Rick Fox during LA's championships. That is the player he should strive to be.

But we don't need him turning out to be pretty boy Boki. Then get his face uppercutted by Christie.... :D

I was pleasantly surprised to see Boki make some open shots. If he can develop consistency with time he could become a good bench player for us by mixing in shots along with drives to the basket.

the boki we saw tonight is the boki everyone on this board was expecting...a solid contributor who when given the opportunity to hit the open 3 comes through. His defense is not a problem anymore because he moves his feet well and he helps on the boards tremendously.

the only thing i wished wouldve happened tonight concerning boki was for him to get the ball more. More often than not, on our offensive sets, boki just runs the sidelines away from the ball. I would like to see the ball swing around more.

Also, him working the same side posting up yao or t-mac would be great i think. After the drop-off, he can cut to the basket for easy layups if yao and t-mac gets doubled.

Overall a very good night for him...hopefully a confidence booster.

I couldn't believe who I was seeing out there tonight. Was that Boki out there, canning jumpers. And not only was his shot falling, but he made one off a catch and shoot, one on a pull-up, and another one while fading away.

He also got a few hustle boards. Good start of the season for Boki.

My mouth dropped a few times with his play tonight. I couldn't believe that was him either. Maybe his contract situation (if the Rockets were going to pick up his option) really was on his mind too much this preseason. Maybe he has been pressing too much and now he can just just play with that off his mind now. This could also be a thing that could motivate him to be better so the team will want to keep him in the future.

But, let's not get too excited. It is only one game. Let him string together a couple of months of solid play before we start declaring him to be what we all hoped.

But a good start none the less, Boki!

I don't think his D is all that important, he will generally be guarding the backup 2 or 3 on the other team.

Boki is a player who feeds off of others, he needs help getting room for his shot.

But, he also gets rebounds, and hustle plays.

I think he may play himself into a large contract.

boki's gameplay tonight actually makes me hopeful for him to turn into what he's supposed to be...a ginobli type player. he definitely looked it tonight.

Boki was the only highlight of the game for us. I can't believe he went 3-3 in the first half, and Van Grumpy never gave him the ball again.

well we never really had a lead on them to bring him in. At one point we were down and needed some momentum so i don't think he really could have brought him in at that point....we were not clicking at all.

But i am glad he played relaxed and comfortable in the first game...it should continue from here then hopefully.
