Anybody else going to this show on Friday? I saw NERD last year at the Woodlands and it was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time. The new album comes out next Tuesday so this will be a chance to hear a lot of new tracks live before the album is released. The only songs I've heard from the Black Eyed Peas are the singles they have, but a lot of people seem to like thier music so I will check it out.
when did Black eyed Peas blow up?! Did I miss something here? All of the sudden, they have this female frontwoman and their video is all over MTv. I remember just a couple of years ago they played SOB's, a small club in the Village. I was one of maybe a hundred people there. now they are touring with N.E.R.D., where are they playing?
black eye peas music has ALWAYS been very subpar. but from my experience and many other people also telling me they put on a great show. they always have a bunch of dancers and breaking and stuff pretty cool production. but like i said there studio stuff especially now is pretty crappy . nerd is ok to i suppose.
i'm gonna need a judge's ruling on the word, "krunk." i realize i'm almost 30....and i have no idea what that word means.
I dont really like rap or anything, but N.E.R.D. I like and their new song sounds more towards the alternative side anyways, i like them, probably will pick up their new album
N.E.R.D. kicks ass. You should pick up their first album. I first picked it up when it was kinda obscure. Justin Timberlake whored them out.
what with MadMax asking for the meaning of the word "krunk" (akin to "tight" or "awesome" or i suppose "totally b****in'"), i figure now is as good a time as any to ask what's with the phrase "all of the sudden" instead of "all of a sudden." is this one of those north and south or east and west things where different regions of the country say it a different way? i see "all of the sudden" typed on this site quite a bit and yet i have never heard anybody actually say the phrase. not to me, not on tv or radio, not addressing a large crowd. never. and "all of the sudden" doesn't really even seem to make sense but with the preponderance of its use it has to come from somewhere i suppose. so are there really different versions of the phrase or is it just like people using the word "then" when they should be using "than."
I'm the same way. I will listen to rap/hip hop occasionally, but I'm much more of a rock fan. I actually starting listening to them at first because right after their first album came out, Trent Reznor did a remix of Lapdance (I'm a huge NIN fan.) From there I picked up In Search Of.. and I've been a big fan ever since.
"In Search Of..." rocks. It's awesome because it's the pre-falsetto version of Pharell. That's all you need to know. When that falsetto appeared (thanks Timberlake, you f-in a-hole), it all came crashing down...
Black Eye Pea is way too popular here in France, at least where I'm at. That "shut up" song is everywhere, and I don't even remember hearing it in the states.
I don't think the new album holds up very well to the first. Not sure if repeat listens will change that opinion.
