Finally gave in and joined the smart phone revolution. This is an awesome phone. Just downloading the free apps (free classics on Kindle for android) and stuff. This is fun. Oh and, sorry mods please move.
Me too...got a Samsung Transform for free last weekend. Although, I think I'm upgrading to the Evo (trading it back in) in a week or so. I want a bigger screen. Android KICKS so much ass. Used to be a Blackberry Dinosaur.
Evo's pretty good too, though I think it might be a little big. One of the things about the mytouch is that since it's a new non-iphone, the only place I can get accessories for it is amazon. That said, I just installed this and it's great. http://www.amazon.com/XtremeGUARD©-...NHJW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1291250395&sr=8-3
Glad you made the switch! I like some of what I see from t-mobile. I absolutely love the G2. I'll still stick with my iPhone tho...
Windows Phone 7 for the win (just wish I had one, hurry up Sprint)! I've had the HTC hero for about 14 months now, it's a good phone but it also drives me insane at times... Android can become VERY unusable after a few days, TasKiller is a must-have app on Android.
Venue Pro is on the TMobile network, but I fear about the gaps I see in their network coverage. I wish that thing was on the AT&T or Verizon network. It's one slick looking phone, but I'm not sold yet on Windows Phone 7. Signed, IPhone 3G Old Timer
I've had just about every carrier. T-mobile may be good in the city, elsewhere seek Verizon, AT&T,and even Sprint
Got a MyTouch 4G two weeks ago. Awesome phone. What's great is with the family plan we have with T-Mobile, it only costs $40.00/month to add this phone to our plan (which includes unlimited talk, text and data). What I just found out that takes it over the top is the MyTouch 4G can act as a WiFi hot spot at zero extra cost. I can take my laptop almost anywhere, connect it to the MyTouch and have fast internet AT NO CHARGE. I didn't have to buy a USB card and pay another $60/month for 5GB. And T-Mobile's HSPA+ is very very fast. I won't be changing from T-Mobile anytime soon and I love the MyTouch 4G.
Taskkiller isn't even necessary really with Android 2.1 + You must have had a bad experience because I would get Android anyday over WM7
90% of my huge ass family has Androids, ranging from G1s to Evo 4Gs. Android is a great OS, but it is FAR from perfect. I have my Hero updated with Android 2.2 and it still has performance issues... even my sister's Evo 4G needs a reboot every few days. On every one of our devices the widgets time out after a day or two, I have ones that toggle GPS and WiFi and about once ever 30 hours or so they'll be come "cannot be displayed" icons. A lot of this has to do with all of the BS software companies put on top of the OS, which is one reason I LOVE WM7.
Hmm that's odd. I haven't turned off my phone since I got it. I currently use a Samsung Epic 4g. I've used a Google Nexus One, and an HTC Aria and didn't experience issues on those either. At least WM7 has Netflix
True! I'm a Twitter/Facebook/Xbox Live w**** so all of the social network integration is the main reason I like the phones. Although I'm actually trying to get into application development via XNA so that's a big reason too, I need a testing unit.
ah I see. that's awesome. If anyone needs an Android Dev phone, i have a Nexus one lol Doesn't AT&T have all the WM7 phones right now?
AT&T currently has three models, the HTC Surround, Samsung Focus and the LG Quantum. T-Mobile has the HTC HD7, my buddy has it and it's pretty damn nice. Verizon may have their first phone by the end of the year (HTC 7 Trophy), and Sprint's should go on pre-order within the next week (HTC 7 Pro).
Yeah, I was looking at the wm7 also, but being the 3rd guy in the field I don't know how they will do in terms of third party support and if the phone will receive the consistent updates and attentions the iphone and android platforms will have. That said, they did seem to do well with being the new guy on the gaming block and M$ knows how to throw money around so I guess we'll see.
wow i had no idea you could do that with a phone. so could i actually get a router on my home pc and just use my phone for internet? if so i will probably be getting that phone soon. (have the original mytouch at the moment)
Any advice on which phone might be better mytouch 4g or samsung vibrant .... Been a long time iPhone user but trying to make the switch to android.
There's quite a few phones out there you can do this with. I believe a customer of mine said she was doing it with her captivate. You don't need a router. Just wireless adapter for the pc.
