I am freaking hooked. I found out about it in the bloggers thread from last month and have secretly been addicted since then. I put some of my songs on it and have thoroughly enjoyed digging around. There are some cc.netters on there but I would like to see more. I have gotten to where I check it like I check CluctchCity and my email. So who’s on it? What’s your link? What have you found that is fun? And if you’re not on it get on it. I'll show you mine. http://www.myspace.com/apolloxviii I want to see yours. And yes I will comment on pics/songs/etc...
It's more for a communal setting. A social informatino exchange site. It's got boards and groups. I think it's primary purpose is for college kids to hook up and bang eachother but I like using it for other reasons. Besides, Godaddy.com dicked up my DN transfer on apolloxviii.com and I'm pulling my hair out top get it back up! Myspace has the potnetial to be a lot of fun for some of us on the bbs to exchange info in a more private setting. There are so many music people on here it's a good way to let people hear their stuff. I want to see the pics of people and stuff like that.
MySpace is a great place but, damn, it has a lot of errors. This is one of them and I have no idea why. Try this one... http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=6793547
That's what I mean. It sometimes screws up and other times, not. I like using MySpace and I've met a lot of cool people on there - actually hung out with a few of them and discovered a big nest of friends who I didn't know had accounts. Unlike a traditional website, this is a good way to meet people and help promote yourself, particularly if you are a band. It is like a hipper, weirder version of Friendster.
This is cool. Jesse Michaels, the singer of Operation Ivy, is there. http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=3591396&Mytoken=20050420074435 That's my last post about them. I think I have mention them in 3 or 4 threads in the last couple of days
Yeah, that was just a demo done only six months after we put the band together, so we didn't want to do the whole thing. New record gets made this summer and then we'll have more.
I'm on myspace primarily to meet musicians, although I do get the occasional message from some allegedly hot underage girl asking me to check out her webcam. Fortunately, such illegal temptations are rare, and the administrators are good about deleting profiles who spam their sexuality. When I was playing with Modulator, we did get some extra fans out to our shows using MySpace. It's a great way to keep your gigs and other activities fresh on your fans' minds. Because I value my anonymity, I'm not going to post my MySpace page.
Hell, if you want to see pictures of me when I was fat and married, go to www.geocities.com/heartland/shores/5382 I really do need to set one of these up. I guess I need to break down and buy a digital camera.
i have my own account and i also helped set up a site for (bbs member) Toast's band Blendt... its a fun site to learn basic html on, i added some neat little features to my space, and on blendts as well... i joined last september during the height of my beastie boys craze, but there is some Rockets love on there too. basically, i tried to represent me... feel free to add me, anyone. toast is on here, so is DCBaller http://profiles.myspace.com/users/4992865 http://www.myspace.com/blendt
