I just got nba live2003 on the pc.I like the game. in my game Yao Ming is in the game, they even say his name after a score.

    Positive.
    1 it is a bit more dificult,atleast i didn't win by 35 every game.
    2 The graphics are great.
3 The block shots have been improved, now they actualy slam the ball away, not just touch it and it doesn't go in.
4 The opponents do play fast breaks,in nba live 2001(the last nba game on the pc)if the computer has a fast break the ran to the 3point line and stop, and wait for you to return and play a verry long attack, this time they run and if you can't stop them they wil dunk,or give alley oop.

    negative.
    1The FG% are to high.
2 because the FG% are to high, there aren't enough rebounds.

i like this game, maybe it is more of a nba jam type of game, like some say but i do not agree,ok they dunk alot, but they have 2 good looking post shots. and they have some great lay ups.
does anybody else have played nba live 2003 on the pc? and what did you think of it?

Arno_ed, did you ever have a problem with live 2001 running slow on your computer? I've just recently installed it on my new computer (less than a year old) and it runs slower than on my old one. This makes me concerned that it won't run Live 2003 optimally either. Man, I really want 2003 too. That fast break thing has me salvating. :(

one thing i forgot that is also great is that when you make a big shot or something good, theplayers on the bench jump up or wave.

nba live 2001 was slow on the computer i had before this one,but it was 4 years old,nba 2003 runs good on my parents computer and they bought theyrs 1,5 years ago.but nba 2001 was fast as wel.i don't know how good your pc is but i think if it is 1 year old nba live should run wel.

what i like alot,is the fact that i play all-star level and i'm not winning alot of games.the offence is more difficult,i like that they have two pst moves, an baby hook, and a turnaround jumper.
Ming has a rating of 79.but when i simulated 1 year to see how the stats would be,he avaraged 5,6 points and 4 rebound,so that is pretty realistic(for now Ming will produce).

do you need a special gamepad (as in the joystick thing for the right hand like gamecube/xbox/ps2's gamepad) to fully play the game's capabilities?

i don't have a special gamepad, but i wil get one,i think you need it to make more great moves, but without it the game is still great.you don't need it for the game to be good, but if you have it the game should be even better

I just bought NBA Live for the PC yesterday, and I am SO AMAZINGLY DISAPPOINTED in it.

I was planning on waiting until more online games sites had reviewed it, but yesterday I saw it and couldn't help myself. The biggest thing is that I'd heard the Franchise mode was really good. I love simulating seasons as a GM, and drafting/trading players and such. Well, that was a HUGE disappointment. The screen size is set to 640x480, so you can hardly have anything on the screen at once, and the menu choices are fairly un-detailed. It was also EXCEEDINGLY easy to put up a great team. I ended up winning the championship for the first sixteen seasons, including one 9 season stretch where I never lost a game, regular season or playoff. 872-0!!! The only reason I kept playing was to see how long I could go without losing a game.

I found the gameplay and control itself to be really hard to adjust to. Unquestionably, I'd take NBA 2k2 over NBA Live 2003. The control was so much easier, so much simpler. I was so frustrated I couldn't finish a half. I'm gonna try again, but right now, it doesn't look good. I think I'd rather play UT2k3 instead.

I've considered buying an X-Box or Gamecube or something like that for NBA 2k3. Which console has it best? If only Sega still made it for the DC . . .

XBOX BABY!!! I love it so far but they added a few things I didnt like (ex. players juggling the ball after trying to catch a outlet pass, the ESPN presentation, etc...) but still the best bball game out there. Playing it on XBox Live is also great. Played kidrock8 and he whooped me pretty bad.

I've got it and I love it! I play on Superstar and am 7-7 with the Rockets at the moment. (I got rid of Kenny, MoT and Moochie and bought in Jamal Mashburn and I recently traded for Penny Hardaway - but I'm gonna trade Penny and maybe Cat for a better SG).

Anyway, I got an unofficial "tweaked roster" from here which lowers the ratings for FG, 3PT, STL etc. and makes the game much more realistic. I play on 8 min quarters and there have been 2 games where I have scored more than 110 (one of them I whooped up the JailBlazers 135-92). So over 12 min the scores will be higher, but I also run quite a bit. Thats the other thing, if you setup your offence and use nearly all the shotclock, then the CPU won't run it as much. But if you go down and jack up a shot with 20 left on the shot clock (and miss) the CPU will rebound and break out for an easy dunk or layup. The other thing I like was rebounding is much better. Unless I switch to the player under the basket and jump for the Offensive rebound, then I don't get anymore than about 5 OR a game. Which is a massive improvement over last year.

I don't have a gamepad (use keyboard) which limits some of the moves I can perform, but I can still use Francis and pretty much get to the hole at will (crossover, spin there goes the defender and here I go for the easy score).
