I searched long and hard to find a befitting thread for my 1000th post. I found it. DaDakota, you should find it particularly interesting. You wrote it. It was a few days after 9-11-01. Almost every thread on the board reflected a proud level of patriotism, anger, resolve. DD, I think president Bush reads this post every day of his life. I think the soldiers and sailors probably have it posted in their barracks. It's raw emotion and I totally dig it. Man, 1000 times I have clicked submit. I gotta get out more. I think all of the die hards should flip through the 9-11 threads on this bbs. All of this **** in Iraq is related to that awful time. Here is a lin to the 13th. Change the 480 at the end to 481 or 479 to surf through the days
Happy thousandth. If there was any clear evidence of a connection between Saddam and 9/11 I'm pretty sure we'd all be on the same side with regard to this conflict. It's no surprise to me that so many support the war, as polls show about half of America believes Saddam was in some way responsible for 9/11 even after the admin backed off their previous contention of a link. If I believed there was one, I'd be supporting it too. Just like I did with Afghanistan. Self defense is very, very different than preventative or pre-emptive invasion.
Chance, Nice post. I went back and browsed the threads from 9-11, and they were all very intereting to read. This was pre-bigtexxx existence on cc.net, so it was all new to me. I did notice almost right after the attack, glynch authored a thread called "US created terrorist bin Laden". Somethings just don't change.... VERY different perspectives on who were America's allies then, also. SJC said Germany was most certainly an ally back then. It's amazing what a desperate politician (Schroeder) will do to get reelected and change that entirely.

Nice post chance..... I've been meaning to tell you this.... I'm in college and for whatever reason I ended up in a taco bell drive thru around 1am.. some guy gets out of the car in front of me. clearly drunk and ends up bending over behind something looking sick for a few minutes........ I only wish I had that taco bell song in my car about then..
