Ok so with all the hype and threads on Melo it's kind of useless to start another thread.. But.. it is the offseason, (and this one seems longer than ever), so here goes my first thread. As we all know, Carmelo has said (through sources) that he would prefer a trade to Houston and he would sign an extension. So for us Houston fans that is great news. BUT, unfortunately Carmelo doesn't come free. So I guess the point of this thread is to discuss what it would take to get Carmelo. Different Rocket analysts such as Jonathan Feigen and Bill Ingram (check out this chat with Bill Ingram) , have said that a deal with Denver would have to START with either Martin or Brooks.. Then we would have to include either a combination of Jeffries, Hill, and Budinger or Battier with at least one of those Knicks picks. I would be hesitant to lose Martin or Brooks, especially because of their talent, but after all it is Carmelo. Then the question becomes, would you be willing to risk losing one of them for a player who is consider a "robin" to someone's batman? Carmelo is a damn good player, but the overall question is it worth it?
do we really need another speculation thread? theres already a 70+ one and the other one will get there soon im sure. IB4TL!
Why do you get your own thread with your Melo thoughts? What makes you any different from the folks that post in the other threads about their Melo thoughts?
Wow, some people can be real douchebags.. If you actually read my post it was to get yalls input on a possible trade for Carmelo, hence the poll. Im sorry if people took it the wrong way, but i was just honestly trying to hear different opinions on the poll. Oh well, ppl are so critical..
I hear you man, I was wondering if there was ANY place I could check out opinions on Carmelo coming to the Rockets - I searched and searched and couldn't find anywhere to post and talk about it on clutchfans until I saw this thread.
I don't think it's worth it to lose Martin. Moreover, I don't think the Rockets would do that... Brooks, on the other hand, I believe is expendable because they have Kyle Lowry. I've said it before but I'll say it again: Melo should be sought after by the rocks if and only if the following players remain on the team: Martin, Scola, Yao, Budinger, Lowry. As long as those preconditions could be had then I would support Melo to Houston. Even still I don't think he fits what the Rockets are trying to do.
You want everyone to pat you on your back for making a thread with poll that nearly identically matches one from a couple of days ago that is located right there on the second page? What forum did you think you were in? You messup here, people gonna give you hell...cant take it? Dont post. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=191779
