I don't know if anyone remembers that screenplay I write and posted a link to back in February, but I thought I would mention that I've decided to bite the bullet and shoot the stupid thing. I've been working on casting, securing locations, doing some script rewrites (it still stinks, but not as much) and plotting out the shots, etc. I want to get. Things are moving alone quite nicely, and we expect to start shooting in August. Since we have to shoot in people's spare time, shooting will take a little longer than it might would have, so I imagine we'll easily stretch into September. At any rate, if anybody wants to keep up with the progress of the movie, feel free to go over to http://www.filmdallas.com and see the updates, etc. as they come available. As soon as I officially sign our main actors, I'll put up cast and crew pictures and bios, etc. That shouldn't be more than a few days from now. At any rate, check it out if you want to. If you don't want to, then check it out anyway so you can laugh at me or whatever (I'm used to people laughing at me. When you look like I do, you get that sort of thing all the time). ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
what the hell..... Need any more actors? I've done a bit of acting myself (nothing major) and I'd love to get a break. I was fairly good at one point in time. I'm also incredibly good looking. ------------------ "I have no regrets except that I wasn't up to keep Randy from getting on that plane." --Ozzy Osbourne on guitarist Randy Rhodes
If you can come to Dallas and work for free or near-free, I'll certainly find a place for you. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
Great script, I loved it when Sean met Roger, had me in hysterics. Anyways best of luck during shooting and be sure to clue us in on all the details. ------------------ Ceo of the Walt Williams and Lisa Malosky fan club. atheistalliance.org
Are you gonna comp tickets to the premiere for all of CC.Net? Good Luck! ------------------ It looks like a veteran can Be had.
Congrats mrp. Let me know when you need a film score. ------------------ How the hell should I know why God would allow the Holocaust. I don't even know how the electric can opener works. - from Hannah and Her Sisters
Will do, but you might want to start thinking of fake names to use so you aren't embarrassed by your association to this project. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
Pretty cool. Where are you getting the cameras , editing equipment, and stuff? Are you just winging this....which is cool too... or do you have some connections? Anyway, if your career ever takes off I'll send you some scripts and make you famous. Or, you could just become famous without me! Good luck. I think you've got some guts. Enjoy it. This is the good stuff. Success brings headaches. ------------------ humble, but hungry.
I don't have any real connections anymore (the one lady I sort-of knew at Disney has retired or died or something). As for camera, editing equipment, sound equipment, I just went out and bought what I needed (actually, that's not entirely true as I will need to take advatange of some outside services during post). I hate to say I'm winging it since I've been thinking about this for about ten years, but for lack of a better term, that is what I'm doing. If it turns out crappy, I'll do better next time. I just want to make movies because it's fun. I like writing. I like planning out shots, etc. I assume I'll like the actual shooting. From editing shorts and stuff, I know I like doing that. More than anything, I'm just tired of being a wannabe filmmaker. It's about time I just went out and did it. After I've got one feature under my belt, I don't think I'll ever stop making movies in some form even if I have to pay for them all myself and nobody sees them except for my mother. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Hmmmm. Buck Naked? Slap Maxwell? Joe Cool? Cletus Yokel? Nah! No project is ever an embarrassment. Honestly, being my first attempt at writing music for a film, I'd be glad if it actually made it into a video format that I could just watch on my TV! Anything beyond that would probably be miraculous anyway. ------------------ How the hell should I know why God would allow the Holocaust. You'd have to supply your own doorknobs. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
I put up some pictures of some of the cast today on the website at http://www.filmdallas.com in case anyone is interested. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
You can have Christy Clark, I'll take Shana Burrows... ------------------ President of the CC.net Realist Club, everyone needs a dose of reality once in a while...
There are a couple of "making out" scenes, but nothing spectacular (and neither Shana nor Christy are in those scenes). Believe it or not, Shana's headshot does not flatter her. She looks better in real life. ------------------ Why not visit MovieForums.com? Or FilmDallas.com?
By the way, we've been working on this for the last several weeks. We've got about half the thing shot and will be shooting this weekend, as well. As of right now, we've got about half the movie shot. It's not very good, but at least we're doing it and learning from the experience. I think everyone in the original cast was replaced. When people are working for essentially free, they don't have much trouble punking out. At any rate, if anyone is interested, we've got some pics and other stuff from shooting on the FilmDallas.com website. I promise the next one will be better.
