I was just curious how many of you actually felt that your "side" is smarter/better and the other "side" is stupid and willfully evil.

It's kind of funny just how thin the bias is these days in the D&D (both sides). ;)

I dunno if its just the emotionally charged nature of the presidential election or what but I tend to disagree that "half" of the voting electorate in this great country "sucks".

Religion and Politics has become dumbed down into fandom that was reserved for sports teams.

The average person might not necessarily take time to consider both angles or question the sources of inflammatory articles.

I honestly think that most people truly feel that their positions are correct. That, I can respect. It's when people try to distract people from the real issues with things that are outright lies that do nothing but try to awaken the lowest common denominator in people that pisses me off.

huh? He is talking about the opinion of your party, not your personal views.

IMO, both sides are ignorant. Its the people who follow their party lines to the end that completely piss me off. As much as people want to rag the conservatives, your conservative base has a much wider variety of opinions than the liberals.

With the exception of the few scattered remaining Marxist utopians, nearly everyone votes in their own self-interest. Those who benefit from bigger government generally vote for bigger government, and those who don't generally vote for smaller government. Those who are old enough to not care vote for unsustainable government programs, and those of us under 40, as we learn the issues, vote for sustainability.

These are all just general rules and personalities and false perceptions and legacy issues fall into play, but that's the general rule.

    You stole my line.

I vote for what I believe is right, just, and what will make America better in the long run. That and I think that anything involved with the will of god is a joke.

If the other side hadn't gotten into bed with religion, I might have taken them a bit more seriously.

I agree about the "wider variety", if only in the sense that "conservative" now includes poor people with populist views and backwards social attitudes along with "fiscal conservatives" who enact anti-populist legislation.

    That is a poll?

I voted the second option. I have differing views than the "other side."

BTW- I have seen many more "evil" labels thrown toward my side than the inverse.

    EDIT: My side is correct.
