DUNLEAVY NEXT HEAD COACH OF ROCKS!!!!!!!! Sorry Rocks Fans, its almost official............................. Dunleavy will be next to Coach your Houston Rocks, The decision has been made and the announcment will come Friday or Saturday..........All the Van Gundy Thursday talk is just a smoke screen for contract leverage.....My cousin was his neighbor for 2 years and they have become pretty close......We had a big Party in Greatwood this weekend, and Steve and his crew stopped by to kick it.....Mo T and Mcdyess also showed up Anyway they all got together and were talkin, so you know I had to be nosy and do my James bond impression and listen in to there conversation.......He said Dunleavy was the man they were goin to choose, and that CD and Les ran it by him 2 days ago and he actually felt it was a good decision Hey he's not the GM of the Rocks so I can't say if its true or not but thats what I heard, He also said Eddie and Posey were trade bait to add another piece to make a run next year so stay tuned.......We have another Party in 3 weeks and you know your undercover reporter will be on the Job, I'll keep ya'll posted You heard it here first....... Holla Back!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting.... Im wondering why they would be hanging out with McDeyss? Also totally contradicts the Chronicle article. When was this "party?"
Heh. I almost had an orgasm there (this is an inside joke for my friends MacBeth, Riet, Desert Scar, Munco, etc.).
Wow, I like, really don't want Dunleavy. Crap. And I'd just as soon keep EG a bit longer. Posey's nice too. Could this get any worse?
I'm pretty sure McDyess lives in Houston during the off-season. And we fired Rudy to hire Dunleavy? ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!
McDyess lives here I believe. In fact, maybe someone can confirm, but didn't we go after him as a FA before he signed with Pheonix?
June 3, 2003, 9:19PM Van Gundy emerges as frontrunner for Rockets BY JONATHAN FEIGEN Copyright 2003 Houston Chronicle SPORTS POLL Who's the best remaining option to coach the Rockets? Jeff Van Gundy Mike Dunleavy CHICAGO -- Former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy has emerged as the favorite to become the Rockets' next head coach after deciding late today to visit Houston, Rockets General manager Carroll Dawson said. Dawson, in Chicago for the NBA predraft camp, said Van Gundy's trip to Houston on Thursday was not an interview, but that he had invited Van Gundy. "He wanted to see the city and the new arena," Dawson said. "I don't think that's unusual when someone is thinking about a new job. I invited him to Houston, so obviously I'm glad he's coming, but he really did just want to see everything -- the homes, the buildings, the schools. That's what it is." Asked if he hoped to close a deal with Van Gundy while he was in Houston, Dawson said, "I'd like to get a new coach. Let's see how everything goes." Negotiations between the Rockets and Van Gundy have not started. Rockets owner Leslie Alexander is not in Houston, and Dawson said Alexander has not scheduled a trip to meet with Van Gundy yet. Van Gundy and Mike Dunleavy had emerged as the two finalists. The Rockets also had met with Paul Silas and Larry Brown. Silas on Monday was introduced as the Cleveland Cavaliers' coach, and Brown officially became the Detroit Pistons' coach. The Rockets have been searching for a coach since Rudy Tomjanovich stepped down on May 23. http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/sports/1936533 Let's see some pictures from that party.
There is one detail that leads me to beleive that this story is BS. Posey is a FA so how could he be trade bait?
If Van Gundy get hired, I want to kill this guy for making me so sick to believe Dunleavy is the guy to replace Rudy T
A lateral move can be good. It could definetly be argued that a lateral move would benefit the Rockets who have not improved in 3 years. That doesn't mean that we shouldn't try to make a step up.
Ugh this sucks, I really wanted Jeff Van Gundy and I thought he was going to be the guy I hope you are lying man
