Took off all the layers of paint, obviously from a yellow SUV door being slammed into my car with no regard for human life.

No note, no cameras, no proof really. It wasn't there yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I know where it happened (I was only at work and at the gym).

I assume I'll have to file a claim with insurance. Anybody gone through this kind of garbage before? I'm completely appalled that the other person would just drive away and not leave a note. It left a dent in my door.

    Anyway, any help/experience is appreciated.

Sorry to hear that. Some ******* dinged the **** out of my hood (I have a coupe, must have been a tall truck) and didn't leave anything on the windshield.

If you know where it might have happened, maybe you should call and see if they had security cameras that caught when this happened.

find out your comprehensive deductible, get a quote from the dealership/body shop and then call your insurance agent and have the discussion about your future rates & credits at jeopardy with a comp claim on your record for 3/5 years

I called this morning, they don't have cameras, much less security tapes. Unfortunately :(

I paid a $250 deductible but mine was more severe than a ding. Was quoted from one place that it would have cost $5k to fix on my own.

If you have full coverage on the car, time to pay the deductible and get it fixed through your insurance. There's nothing else you can do.

Sucks bro. A few years ago I left my car parked on the curb and crashed into the driver side of the car. Of course he didn't leave a note either. I had underinsured/uninsured motorists coverage and that covered the repairs on my car. That was a 250 deductible. Thank goodness that was there because I didn't have full coverage on my car.

Yep. Cost me 250 for 2500 worth of damage through my insurance. Your rates may not go up also.

Yea, my bad, uninsured motorist property damage if you've got it has a standard 250 deductible --not comprehensive coverage

File it and be done w it
