On Sunday, a good friend and I chose to go to the NFL Experience at George R. Brown. I decided to write a column, with pictures, on my web site about the experience. I humbly present to you... my "NFL Experience." (Pictures of celebs are included and a photo gallery of all pics taken is linked at the bottom of the screen.) Hope you guys away from Houston can live vicariously through me.
Good pics, and nice article. Most writes have their mugshot at the beginning of an article. I like how you have yours at the end.
LOL. That's not really your mugshot there, is it, drapg? Looks an awful lot like you borrowed an NBA.com bio picture. Yours: NBA.com: Background and cropping looks similar. Oh, BTW, good article. I'm coming in on Thursday and working Thursday-Sunday. I'll email you my work schedule...
nice article and pics... ill be heading down to houston this weekend as well and to the nfl experience.. vescey.. are you saleing cards, or giving some stuff out or what?
A really funny read, drapg. Thanks! Man, the weather looks fantastic, which is quite a change from the last Houston Superbowl. I hope it stays that way.
Both of the above. Also, there's a little something we do called the "Treasure Hunt," where we give you a map, and you have to pick up the "treasure" pieces at various locations around the convention center. Once you get all the "pieces," you get a special trading card (out of a 5 card set of MY creation ). I know we do this at the Pro Bowl, and I'm almost positive we're doing it at the Super Bowl instead this year (because the Pro Bowl show was canceled).
They are doing live segments on all of the non-taped sportscenter telecasts...morning to night. The SC at 5pm had Charles Woodson live onsite with Dan Patrick talking about the Norv Turner hire...Im sure the rest of the week will be the same with ongoing player appearances...
Good read! Joe Perry was a helluva running back. NFL Films "Lost Treasures" series has an episode on Joe Perry. It was filmed when NFL Films was just starting out. ESPN Classic or the new NFL channel are always showing the "Lost Treasures" shows.
thanks alex and vescey... the treasure hunt sounds cool.. and I can't believe i typed saleing instead of selling.. it's been a long day and it's only monday
Question for you Houston folks. I'm coming to Houston after work Friday night. The NFL experience looks like tons of fun. Where can I get tickets? Oh, and excellent article, drappy. Looks like you didn't miss much at all. Tell your buddy sorry about the Erubial Durazo ball.
Goto superbowl.com and you can order them thru ticketmaster. I don't know if they sell them at the door, nor if you can avoid the surcharge by buying them there. ($15 for adults, plus 2.25 surcharge).
I heard that the NFL was charging 2 and 3 year olds to get in the NFL experience. That's pretty sad if it's true...
