So yesterday, after the storms calmed down and the streets drained enough that I could get somewhat near my home, I drive to the entrance to my street to realize that the large plume of smoke I'm seeing down the street is ridiculously close to my house. My street is still flooded bad enough that I can't get down it, so I turn around and park in the school lot and proceed to watch the house right next to mine burn. The flooded street makes it difficult for the fire department to get to his house and it burns for a while before I see any water from the firemen. So this is sad, right? It's terrible when someone's house burns down, for any reason. Firemen said they thought it likely was lightening. This makes sense. Because guess what? It's not sad this guy's house burned. This guy was one of the worst excuses for a human being I have ever seen. A year or so ago, one of my neighbors heard a dog crying out from behind his house and saw him hitting it. I've heard dogs crying out from past my fence before, but the guy had like 10 of them and I thought they were fighting. Turns out the guy had more than that and they were all living inside his house in complete squalor. When my other neighbor called the police on him, they showed up at his house and went inside. From what I heard, it was one of the more disgusting environments they have ever seen. Dog **** everywhere. The dogs had skin problems, sickness and little to no accomodations. One dog was chained up and had obviously been yanked around by the chain roughly and for a long time. The chain had slowly cut into its neck. But then the neck flesh had healed over the chain. They took all the guys animals from him and threw his ass in jail. Somehow he got back out within a year. I don't know what his sentence was, but it wasn't long enough. So this guy is an established piece of ****. Unfortunately it was worse than that. Not long ago a letter was posted on several people's doorways that this guy had attempted to lure a little girl into his home. For some reason, no charges were ever filed. I was skeptical about this because if anyone ever tried to lure a child of mine into their home, I would make damn sure charges were filed and that ******* ended up in jail. But a funny thing happened after the fire was out and we could get back into our home (no damage to our house, thank God). My wife was out front trying to see how much damage the guy sustained, and there was a cop car out front who had taped off the whole house and was looking through the windows. He called her over and asked her if we had small children (we do, two boys one 12 and one almost 2). He said that the letter about the guy attempting to lure a little girl to his house was true. He told us to NEVER let our kids out of the house without supervising them (which we did anyone...it's not the best of streets). He said that things were found in the house by the firemen that were...suspicious. We didn't get anymore information than that, but the policeman said they are investigating and he could end up going to jail for a long time. I hope to God they didn't find a body, or parts of a body or even little children's clothing because if I found out they were molesting (or worse) children I might throw up. The policeman told my wife he would call her with the results of the investigation no matter what the result, which makes me feel better. I fully believe, knowing what I know about this guy now, that God sent that lightening bolt down to his house. If for no reason than to punish him and to maybe get him away from my family. We've been trying to move to another house for a long time but have had a string of problems preventing this. It will still be years before I could get another home. But at this point I think this guy has been doing some terrible things in his home and no one knew about it. This fire will bring it to light, and I thank God for that. Didn't really mean to turn this into a religion thread, and I hope that's not where everyone takes it, but I wanted to relay this story, because I think it is amazing and sad.
Crazy story. And yes, he does work in mysterious ways. You'll have to post what the results of the investigation are when they come out. In what part of town do you reside?
Ha, wow... Dog cruelty.. louring little girls.. Karma is a B. Man, It would be odd for me to be a neighbor for someone like that. Ah well, I guess something had to happen for his sins.
This story fits well within the Buddhists' definition of karma. Or given this person's character, I wouldn't rule out insurance fraud. (what is commonly referred to as J___ lightning)
Wow dude, sounds like a real scumbag and someone is looking out for you and yours. Glad y'all are ok.
I wonder if it was lightning or if it was the little girl's dad seeking revenge. Since the streets are flooded, it would be a great time to torch his neighbor's place.
Yeah, I'll give an update, but no specifics. I'm also going to take a picture of the house but not post it until we hear back from the officer. I'd hate to be the guy that does something that screws up the court case against this guy. Also, the two dudes living there apparently got taken away in an ambulance from smoke inhalation, so I doubt they set the fire themselves. Although if they really were involved in unseemly things in that house, that might have been the best way to get rid of the evidence. I'll let you guys know the final results.
Just talked to the fire marshal that is investigating and I casually asked him if they were still thinking it was lightening. He kind of hesitated and said, "nah" which was all he would say. I don't know if it's because he just can't reveal his investigation or because there really is foul play and he doesn't want to talk about it.
Raven, I swear the father came back for vengeance for his daughter. If the guy is really a child molester, the fire marshall might pretend the cause of the fire is lightning instead of arson. As much as some people believe in Karma, I don't. I believe in vengeance.
