    0) Renounce all free agents to clear cap space.

    1) Sign Chris Webber. He is not the best power forward in the game, but he is the best that will be available to us anytime soon.

    2) Trade Cato, Walt, and picks (18&23) to Vancouver for Shareef Abdur-Rahim. I don't care what feelings some of you have about this guy or stud SF's in general, he brings it and can provide the rebounding/shotblocking that we need out of this position. If needed he can even drop 20+ points on any given night.

    3) Draft Lauren Woods. This kid can rebound and hit shots. He is also an excellnt FT shooter. I don't know if he will be available at the 13th pick, but I can hope.

    4) Re-sign Hakeem to the vet. minimum $1,000,000. If it was good enough for Charles when he took it, it should be good enough for Hakeem now, heck that Charles was playing better than this Hakeem.

    5) Re-sign Moochie Norris with remaining cap room. He is the perfect backup for Steve and fits great into the three guard lineup.

    6) Convince SA not to opt out of his contract. Next year they can full bird him. Coming of of the bench behind Cat would do wonders for his game, IMO. He seems to play his best against 2 guards and then he will even get to play aganst bad twos.

    7) Re-sign Bullard and Langhi to minimum contracts. I hope that the Bull can retire as a rocket and that he can groom Langhi to replace him.

    8) Wave bye-bye to C-Rog as he heads off in the general direction of Detroit.

    Projected Lineup -
    C - Olajuwon/Woods/Collier
    PF - Webber/Thomas
    SF - Abdur-Rahim/Bullard/Langhi
    SG - Mobley/Anderson
    PG - Francis/Norris

Does anybody know if it is possible to renounce free agents then sign them back under the new CBA? Under the old one, renounced free agents couldn't sign with the team that renounced them until like January during the season. So won't we have to sign Norris, Olajuwon and Bullard before we do anything?

P.S. This is what part of the alphabet would look like if Q and R were eliminated.

    Here's my ideal offseason:

    Sign Webber
    Re-sign Hakeem
Trade Walt and Cato for Shaq
    Trade Carlos for Vince Carter
    Re-sign Shandon
Sign and Trade Moochie for Brian Grant. The heat waives Mooch, and they have this lineup:

    Francis-Mooch
    Mobley-Shandon
    Carter-Bullard
    Webber-Grant-Thomas
    Shaq-Hakeem

I think that team could be a contender.

Here's what my ideal offseason consists of:

1)Somehow getting New Jersey's # 6 pick to get Shane Battier.
    2)Trading for Theo Ratliff.
    3)Trading for Raef LaFrentz
4)Sign Jerome Williams to 4.5 mil exception
5)Resign Dream to about 5 mil a year.
    6)Resign Moochie
    7)Resign Colson
    8)Resign Bullard

    How to do this:
    Sign and trade Shandon Anderson
    Sign and trade Mo Taylor
    Trade Kelvin Cato
    Trade Walt Williams
    Trade Carlos Rogers
    Trade Kenny Thomas (possibly)
Trade all draft picks xcept the one for Battier

    Thus having a lineup of:

    Francis, Moochie, Colson - PG
    Mobley - SG
    Battier,Langhi, Bullard - SF
    Ratliff, J. Williams - PF
    Olajuwon, LaFrentz, Collier - C

We would have a rebuilt frontline but one that hustles and can play defense and can run with our guards. Everyone except for Olajuwon and Bullard would still be in there 20's. Theo and Raef equal about the money that we would have to pay 1 Webber and I certainly don't think he's deserving now after his series with Phoenix...he looked Catoesque out there.

*I know that these are 3 major trades but I think Rudy and Carol can do it. I think that they would be willing to trade anyone on this team other than Dream, Francis, Mobley and Langhi.

I like ZRB's ideal offseason. Almost as realistic as some of the others listed too. [IMG]

What do you think about drafting Forte with the 22nd pick?

Forte is a 6'3" shooting guard. The Rockets don't need a small guard. I think a steal at 22 would Morris out of Maryland. He could possibly slip down this far.

It's tough to beat ZRB's, but how bout this offseason:

Renounce Shandon -- we could easily have won 50 games without him this year. Walt could have held the fort at the 3-spot easily. Since Shandon only plays "slightly better" defense than Dan Langhi, we won't be missing much.

Renounce Mo -- his rebounding was so weak, we probably could have been a 4-5 seed easily without him this year.

Trade Mobley for Larry Hughes -- Mobley is hindering Francis' development by taking all those shots in the 4th quarter. Plus, Hughes came out early, so he must be better. Since Hughes shoots in the 30's, we'll just play him at the point and move Francis to the 2. Did I mention Hughes could jump?

Trade Walt, Bullard, and a 2nd-round pick in 2005 for Abdur-Rahim -- Vancouver will surely go for this because they're desperate to unload their best player and his contract. It works for the Rockets because they are looking for guys that don't fit their scheme, aren't clutch, and make more money than their entire team.

Trade Pippen for Rasheed Wallace and Latrell Sprewell -- The Blazers would do this because some inside source on the BBS said so. The Knicks would do this for the same reason. That's not how it's supposed to work? What, Pippen doesn't play for the Rockets? What, you can't trade one guy for 2 players on 2 different teams? **** you, man! What, Pippen complained and now the deal is off? That stupid Pippen! If he would have kept his mouth shut, we would have had Wallace and Sprewell! This is fantasy world, though, the deal is on!

    Sign Webber.

    Re-sign Hakeem for $150,000.

Sign Marc Jackson with the 4.7 million exception.

PG: Hughes/Francis/Mooch/Colson (the guy that practices more than Shandon)
    SG: Francis/Hughes/Sprewell
    SF: Sprewell/Abdur-Rahim
    PF: Webber/Abdur-Rahim
    C: Jackson/Hakeem

Because the guards on our bench suck. Mooch is cool though.

why do we want another guard? maybe draft then trade him to another team that needs a talented PG. Also remener Rudy T seems not to like players who come of college early. oh well we will see
