Okay this probably has to rank right up there with my viewing of Game 5 for the Astros where Kent hit is homerun to win the game. I was in the Suite for that game and it was electric. Some of you might have seen the videos i took. Well here is a bit of what happened to me at the Rockets opening game this Saturday. First off, a friend an I bought the T-Mac 14 game package for this year. So we both are getting ready to go the game when he calls me and says his Aunt just got Suite tickets so we should try to sell our tickets. So i told him okay and tried to find a buyer for the tickets. Unfortunatly i couldn't find anyone to buy it and the one person he found fell through and couldn't buy the ticket. So we say forget it and start going to the game. On the way his aunt takes the tickets out and sees that she only has 4 tickets and not 5 like she originally though. So first off we get lucky that we didn't sell the tickets so i could still get in the game. I go to my seats which are in section 102 and have a good view as you will see in the pictures. Eventually my friend comes and gets me and takes me up to the suite and we are chilling there and eating all the free food. At half time a family comes in and they happen to be the laywers for his aunts company. i started talking to their sons and they start telling me how their seats were hot and they liked it up here where the A/C is better. So i asked where they are sitting and they tell me the have courtside tickets. I was like no way. So i started talking and telling them how i have never been and they were like "want my tickets to go down and sit?" i was like "HELL YEAH" they told me they are not going back and staying in the suite to drink and eat so me and my friend went courtside and sat for the 3rd, 4th and OT on the floor. It has to be one of the greatest experiences i have ever had at a Rockets Game.... The only thing i would change would be the fact that i had left my Camera at work over the week and didn't charge it. But when i left it i had enough charge, but with my luck my staff decided to take pictures with it becuase the pitching coach for the Astros came in and they wanted pictures for him. Keep in mind i didn't know i would end up on the court so i was taking pictures and videos from my seat and the suite...so when i get down there i have a total of 4 minutes left in my battery and i was snapping pictures with a fury. Only problem being that since the battery was slow, the shutter was closing fast at all; so light was coming in and most of the pictures came out blurry. I took one video from courtside as well. Other than that i tried to get as much as i could.... Just thought i would share it with you...here are the links to the pictures and videos that i took. Sorry if this post was rambling and long...just had to share =) Picture Gallery Starting Lineups Video Courtside Video
Man, you guys are lucky...Season tickets, sitting courtside, suites Just awesome!!! By the way Stack, nice pics and video!!!
I sat courtside once in the Summit. It's amazing. You can hear the players talking and grunting.... you can hear the contact... it's just a completely different game. -- droxford
Man, that bar looks STOCKED! Must be nice to be rich enough to afford a suite...or know someone who is. Great report, Stack. My only complaint is there are not nearly enough pics of the Powerdancers.
Yeah courtside is the bomb!!! Me and a buddy got courtside tickets for Yao's very first game as a rocket his rookie season. Two rows back from the baseline. Best seats I ever had at a bball game....
Very nice pics and you guys are lucky who stays in Houston. Iam staying in LA, don't have the opportunity to go to Toyota Center and cheer for Rox. One day If i save enough money i will want to stay in Houston for the weekends and watch at least 2-3 home games.
I worked the game and I have to say...the energy was amazing once all the corporate people were gone... hey Stack24... Did I throw you a shirt?
I actually ended up with one of the red shirts =) My friend got one of the southwest ones right before me.
Unwritten rule #1 of the BBS: If you ever.....ever, ever, ever, ever.....have game tickets that you can't use, you must post them as available to the highest bidder. Rockets ticket must not go to waste. Don't let it happen again.
I did post them in this forum....go look back to saturday's posts. Only got 2 replies and when i replied back to them no one answered me back.
Oh yeah anyone know how to copy a clip to a picture from Real Media cuase i have the game that was torented and i thought i could pause a part of it then do a print screen and go to a graphics program and paste it but the video part shows up black. What's a good program to get a snippet of it that i want to turn into a picture cause it's cool i can see myself in the video of the game when i was courtside.
